    904 Teardown

This is out of a 01 Jeep that “went into limp mode”. I found a broken/collapsed accumulator that was probably the original problem, but it was left outside after being replaced. Other drums have surface rust but this one is clean. PB blaster overnight and a couple kisses from a brass drift...

    904 Teardown

m diving into my first 904 rebuild and have hit a problem. I have the case completely stripped except for the low/reverse drum and output shaft. I pulled the pump and all input shaft pieces. Rear planetary is out. Band and the bracket is out. There was a decent size snap ring inside the low...

    [SOLD] Herbert SB Roller Lifters

I don't know if Herbert makes the bent link bar style anymore. All I see on their site is the TEV flat link bar. No way the flat bars clear the valley when installed correctly. There are numerous threads on moparts about these old style Herberts. Note RyanJ's comment about the Herbert link bar...

    [SOLD] 73-76 Outside Mirror

73-76 A-Body outside mirror, driver side. Not sure if they are the same on the passenger side. Nice Taiwan reproduction piece with gasket and hardware. Bought one, it got lost in the build process and bought another. $50 shipped obo, I have no use for it.

    [SOLD] Herbert SB Roller Lifters

Herbert Roller Lifters for a small block. Full set of 16 plus an extra pair with a bad wheel. I bought them used off of moparts, but in good shape other than cosmetic wear on the bodies. These are supposed to be drop-in or minimal effort roller lifters for a small block. 2 of the link bars just...

    Disappearing Fuel Level

I've gotten all of the lights to work on the bench with a 12V 5A power supply connected directly to the individual pins and the gauge frame. What I didn't have was a resistor anywhere in the range the tank sender would provide (RIP RadioShack). I dont know or care about the other temp, oil...

    Disappearing Fuel Level

Lol definitely not sloshing, the car doesnt run for other reasons. The neighbors don't appreciate me trying to get it to run at this time of night, so I'm working on other things. I'm starting to suspect the VR as well. I have 55 ohms on the sender wire at the back of the cluster which is...

    Disappearing Fuel Level

Sender is a 0-73ohm unit, should be fine. Update: Circled wire with the ring terminal on the back of the cluster has no continuity to ground. That means I wasnt getting a ground until the cluster was installed in the dash. When checking that continuity with a jumper wire to establish the...

    Disappearing Fuel Level

I have exactly 5 gal in the tank, poured from a VP fuel jug. With the cluster not touching the dash and the circled ring terminal connected the gauge read about a third of a tank. 50’ish ohms on the sender wire seems correct. The gauge reads zero with no power connected. Once the cluster is...

    Disappearing Fuel Level

I agree. I need to check continuity on the wire in the harness to ground tonight

    Disappearing Fuel Level

I have the ground wire circled in red at the location pictured and the gauge works correctly while the cluster is out of the dash. When the cluster is in the dash or I use a jumper (red line) from the mounting hole to the dash frame, the gauge goes to zero after 3-5 minutes.

    Disappearing Fuel Level

1973 Duster, re-wired with a Speedway 21 circuit kit that is like a lot of other universal kits. With the gauge cluster plugged in and sitting on my lap the gas gauge work fine. When I install the cluster in the dash, the fuel level drops to zero after a few minutes. I have recreated this in...
