Can someone tell me what is happening here?

I actually do have one. I just wasn't sure what I was seeing and the section about the adjustment ring was somewhat was somewhat obscure until you guys educated me. BTW, I see your from sw Houston. I'm right here in Rosharon, just south of Pearland & Manvel.

Wow. As usual I realize how little I know about this stuff. Thanks for all the great help ! I didn't notice a lock pawl - mostly because I didn't know there should be one. Where does this bolt to? Is the adjuster 'ring' with lock available? What's a good source for all this stuff?

Can someone tell me what is happening here?

OK, so I had my car up on the lift and I was just checking things over when i noticed a drop of oil at the bottom of the rear brake drum plate on my 65 Cuda. I pulled the wheel and hub and found this behind the axle flange!! Any thoughts on what is happening? I'm sure I would have noticed...

318 magnum VS 318 roller VS older 318 gas mileage

I can't speak to the auto tranny questions but it sounds like you've already got the info you need in the last couple of posts. I also put in a new timing chain. I believe I used the harmonic balancer off the Magnum however as my old one was not great The entire front end of my old 273...

318 magnum VS 318 roller VS older 318 gas mileage

Agreed. I found prices all over the board when I went looking for an engine. I ended up paying $350 for it. Came out of a wrecked truck. I think the total job, paint, new intake, clutch and misc parts ended up at $1400 +/-

318 magnum VS 318 roller VS older 318 gas mileage

I pulled the 273 in my 65 Cuda about 1 1/2 years ago and swapped in a 2001 Magnum 5.2. Best thing I ever did! I did it for the same reasons you are thinking of it - too much $$ to rebuild the old one. The block is pretty much identical to the old one. From the old engine I reused the timing...

    how to clean gauge faces?

I used Westley's Whitewall Cleaner and a Qtip on mine followed by plain water to neutralize the bleach. Really brightened up the numbers. Try it on a small area first though. I used orange nail polish on the needles...

    Lock linkage

Tell you what... I'll pull out the pass side, take a pic and post it. It's a mirror image of it. Thanks, Jamey

    Power Steering

OK, that makes sense to me. Now that you mention it, I see one of the notches on the backside of the pulley in the pic. OK, I'll go for it. Still trying to locate a power steering gear for it. I think I have all the other parts located. I live in TX -77583 if you want to work up shipping...

    Power Steering

I don't think that's the right one. At least for my car. I just looked and my single groove pulley has six bolts. Mine is stamped steel, not cast. Not sure if that makes any difference.
