    Got the formula

I will stay with the 360/4 speed in my 66 B-cuda. Using Moparts charts, they call for a 26" tire on 2800lbs, to reach 117mph @ a 12.1 et @5800 rpms. That calls for about 330 t0 350 rear wheel hp. If what I hear is true, you lose about 25% (on the dyno) from the clutch to the rear, so I'd need...

    Slick size

Ok I have the start of a game plan. I have a built engine, 440+.020, 10.5 compression, 906 heads with work, and a 727 tranny. Lets say conservatively 450 hp. I have the 66 b-cuda to put it in. I have decided to go with the ford 9 because of its price and availability. To shorten it , I need to...

    Help with rearend and tires

I plan to use my 66 barracuda at the track. I am looking at a ford 9 inch for the back. I have a 440/ 500hp, and a 727 tranny. Can anyone help me figure out the flange to flange width of the ford and what tire size I will need. 51.4 is the normal f to f on a a-body 8.75, right? But to make room...

    how can ya tell??

ya I think my 440 in cast in the side, but I cant eyeball these, its kind of tight in there. Id pull the valve covers for the head casting numbers, but that wont help much if they arent the original ones. I didnt know if there was a oddity to look for or there was a number pad up front.

    how can ya tell??

Right now, I have the small block in my 66 b-cuda, that I got this week. I was told that its a 360. How can I tell if its a 318, 340 or 360 by looking, any way ???? New to the mopar sb family. I dont know where to look for the numbers. thanks

    360 vs. 340 vs. 318

Well I think I remember the 440 at 670lbs including normal tack ons, a 6 cyl, is around 570, so by the time you add aluminum like intake and headers over the stock exhaust, water pump, etc, that 440 shouldnt be a weight question at all, but I'm sure someone can get the exact weights in here...

    360 vs. 340 vs. 318

Well if headers are the thorn on the rose here, just what is the cost involved, and if you go fenderwall, does that help? Whats the best way to cure the header blues if your not worried about doing a little fenderwall cutting?

    360 vs. 340 vs. 318

Abody, its a pleasure to hear from you. Thanks for your input. Ah, you guys roll over too easy, I never said I wanted to keep a small block, I was just getting your opinions. I really want to put that 440+.020, (in the picture) in there. I built it, its a thumper! I really...

    360 vs. 340 vs. 318

I am shopping for a powerplant for my 66S. I built a really healthy 440 last year, but I hear they are a total bear to install. I have a 360 that came with the car( its in there now). In your humble( ) opinions, which motor is gonna give me the best all round performance, 60% road, 40...
