It looks like 70-72 have a rectangular hole and the wheel cylinder has a 3/8"-24 inlet thread. In 73 they still had the rectangular hole but the thread changed to 1/2"-20.

I currently have two 4.7s, one in a 2000 Dakota Quad Cab (150,000 miles) and one in a 1999 Grand Cherokee (180,000+ miles). I am also quite happy with these engines however the Jeep is starting to smoke a bit at startup. Good power for what they are but I am lucky to get 15mpg.
