Im all but certain that the springs that came out of my very original 64 Belvy had the same mopar number on both springs.....now im gonna have to dig them out and look....
Why not check the factory parts book for '68?? If they arent there, then they must be non original, or for a different application???
You can download any year at mymopar.com.
The OEM Mopar ones seem to have lasted pretty well. Im sure you could spray some clear laquer or enamel on it to last longer, but that may lead to peeling I guess.
What heads?? Maybe a valley plate is the real answer??
I think around 74, (seat belts fastened?) OHIO started using a reflective material, almost like a wrap?? Im not sure they were ever painted since then??
Some will say its an unlikely issue in an automatic, but if i were you (esp since its apart) i would check the centerlines of the trans input and the crank. If you need offset dowels, now's the time to do it. Sometimes a funky converter snout is a bit of a telltale....look for a ridge.
After i bought a couple 727 aluminum trans pans at a big black friday sale a while back, I was gonna say the same thing. I think i had enough labor into them, i could have smelted my own lol.
Your other thread shows some pix.....certainly looks like its been out in the weather for an extended period of time AFTER it was pulled from a car. Strong possibility its all junk. As RRR said, RUNNING means a lot, not running leaves too, too much to interpretation, which can only hurt...
