Just wanted to add another vote for the MeterMatch. Got it hooked up in my 67 Dart and it’s got my gauge reading just how I want it. I set points at E, 1/4, 1/2 and F so that it would be most accurate on the low side.
Here’s a couple photos someone may find helpful down the road. They show a...
Just re-did the clips on a couple trim pieces and actually managed to take some pictures. I wasn't sure about a few things when I got started but it was pretty straightforward.
I did the front quarter and the back quarter. Not the door.
Rear quarter had one metal clip with a screw at the very...
Here's a quick video on the strut rod setup. You can see how even though it doesn't raise from the low point it's nowhere near falling. This is with 100lbs per side 15" rods. I'd like to try 120lbs rods but the smallest I see so far are 17" which means making an add-on to the L bracket on the...
Thanks! Hope it helps someone else. The recommendation on rear 10x2" drums on this site saved me just a little while back. This floppy trunk has been my car nemesis for a long time and I really didn't want to break from originality but it had to happen after I finally found another set of...
Yes, that's right. Fully working on struts alone. Doesn't pop up from unlock but holds tight at every point along the way and self-raises from the higher position. I kind of like that.
I should say: I haven't installed the torsion bars and actually verified that the whole thing works...
OK, gas struts are all installed for the trunk and I'm pretty happy with it. Just to recap so it's all in one post. This is in a '67 Dart Convertible so there are some special considerations for where the top rests in the down position.
The basics are:
15", 100lbs each gas struts. 14.96"...
About to embark on a gas strut conversion on my 67 Dart convertible. Been a long time coming. Had been hoping to find someone that can recondition the torsion rods but no luck there. The last straw was buying a set of used rods that also turned out to be mushy then finding I had some torn...
This has been the most helpful thread I think period. Was pulling my hair out trying to get some SBP 10 x 1 3/4" compatible rear drums for the 67 Dart and was striking out big time. Just got a Centric/C-tek 123.63044 in the mail today and gave it a test fit. Excellent! Will buy a few more...
Hello, I have a 1967 Dodge Dart Convertible with a 273/2 barrel with a leaky power steering pump. The car is a daily driver so I'd like to minimize the down time. What I do now is keep spares of a lot of parts myself so I can change things out without having to wait around. Problem is: I...
Pulled my original '67 Dart Convertible spring. This is definitely original to the car since I've had it since 1989 and it was on the second slot at that point and the color matches the car. So I see 41 1/4" total length. You've probably been over this before or even seen it work but it looks...
Looks like I missed first dibs on these but I'm in need of a set for my 67 Dart Convertible. I still have the originals so I'm going to go measure them too.
Hello. I'm the the same boat with a '67 Dart Convertible with trunk springs that need help. Not sure which way to go here:
Recondition. Is this possible? Any vendors do this?
Custom make? Is this done anywhere?
Install some coil spring helpers.
Install some gas strut helpers.
I'm about to...
Thank you so much! That figures then because it seemed like the second owner barely did a thing to the car after getting it from the first owner. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing - "maybe I'll run these for a while." I need a fourth of the lower ones. Have a set of dog dish caps too but I...
When I bought my 1967 Dart GT convertible in 1989 as the third owner in 1989 I received all the paperwork on what looked to be a very original an unmolested car. But, since the owner included three sets of hub caps (very nice of him) I've never been 100% sure which set actually came on the car...
