    two cadillacs, 1937 & 1939

I have a friend that has to sell her two old caddys. They are definitely projects, but more or less worthwhile. I'm told the 39 used to run a few years ago, but storage hasn't been too nice to them. They are here in San Diego, so there's not much rust. I'll post pictures tomorrow. She has to...

    72 swinger special

Just an update... Probably the last. I've got it together, rust free, and clean. I need a handfull of little hardware from any auto store, and a fuel float. I do have to torque the bolts, and grease a couple of spots. Other than that, it's good to go. Unfortunately, the family turned into a...

    want a van

I am looking for a slant six on a manual tranny. I used to drive a tradesman with the three on a tree, and I liked it. This project will end up a work van, so looks and all aren't a problem.

    72 swinger special

So, I have a bunch of hi temp paint and I was using it to paint some of the stuff under the car. Then I was talking to my neighbor and he said the paint needs to heat cure, and the online instructions agree. How can I cure the parts, because not many of them are on the engine? Can I use a heat...

Anyone know a good engine shop in San Diego?

I've been going to Action Cylinder Heads in Lakeside. My old shop was Ed Hale, and I recently found this one. I had them do several items, and they've all come out great. Good prices and knowledgeable.

    restore slant exhaust

I have the original exhaust (I think) to my swinger, and want to clean it up and look for holes or damage. It used to work, but I don't know if it had any problems. I don't have the money for a new exhaust, so need to clean this one up and get it working. What's the best way to clean it? The...

    72 swinger special

Ok, I figured out about the radiator, it's at the shop with the gas tank. It needed a little work and the cleaning they do should get everything out of it. And, I'll have a nice gas tank too. I took the manifolds to the shop and the exhaust was cracked. So when I get another one I'm going to...

    shops in San Diego

Well, maybe when I get the car ready for the expensive rebuild I'll take it 5 hours east. It sounds like a nice drive, and some camping too.

how do I get the cobwebs and dead spiders out of the inside of the radiator? I think I need to do more than just flush it. I will use the vinegar though.

    My Challenge to U /6ers....

I'd say find a manual transmission, fuel inject it at the least, and keep the engine maintained and clean. FI gives the best gas adjustment, direct FI and turbo makes it better. The manual prevents the power loss due to switching energies. Check the diff, and match everything to the fuel...
