It does have that nice clutch smokin' smell when you get on it real hard and it shakes. It must also need the flywheel surfaced cause it appears there are good spots and bad on it.
It is definitely in the clutch area where the shake is. There is some free play at the pedal on return. Not much though. I'll check out the rear tranny mount but I've had those go bad in the past and normally you will also get a continual vibration running down the road because of drive train...
Bought my original 383 4 speed car a few months ago from a FABO member (great car)and have been getting it road worthy. Years ago he mentioned he smoked the clutch a bit. Doing ??? Not sure. As I drive it, it hooks fine in all gears but first. In first if you dump the clutch it really doesn't...
Finally got resolved, I think. Called Summit tech line and after some research on their part found that their advertised shank lug nuts for these 5X4's do not fit. The new style wheel, as they call it, takes the 60 degree conical lug nut. I've sent the shank style back so hopefully this gets me...
In working with this I'm finding that the 09005-4 lug nuts called out by Cragar for the 5X4 SS's have multiple issues.
1. The shank length is too long. They extend past the wheel itself so it will not press the rim against the drum. I milled these off to fit.
2. The head is not 3/4" as...
Pulled my Cragar lug nuts and washers off and found that at 75 ft lbs, I bent the crap out of my new washers. What's up with that. Chinese washers now I suppose.
Thanks for the feedback. I thought that I would like a scooped hood for my 69 Barracuda instead of the stock flat and I noticed these guys make a fiber hood they claim you can use your stock hinges and hold downs for. I would pin it as well but at around 800 bucks for the hood and underneath ram...
I've started out at 65 ft. lbs. but it sounds like I'm too light. I've used unilug Cragars on my B Body cars in the past and various times have had them come loose. I only decided on 5X4 Cragar SS's for my Barracuda because they are not unilug but after just impact and lug wrench tightening the...
I see that US Body has a Hemi Super Stock Fiber hood for a 69 Barracuda. I'm considering a purchase of the heavy duty style and wondered if anyone else had bought one of these in the past. I don't believe they've been out long. Am also going to get the ram air under hood attachment as well. Any...
