I have for sale a Early A-body floor pan. It came off a four door California car and is in very good shape. There are two pin holes under the drivers side floor pan but over all there is zero rot. it still has most of the frame parts and the rockers are still attached I had...
I had the same issue...I ended up pulling the sending unit and found that the Copper float had cracked, would fill up with fuel and sink to the bottom of the tank. I let the fuel evaporate out of the float and soldered back up the cracks and voila it worked again. I know they sell replacement...
Keep your eyes open on Moparts.com and here. They come up every now and then...look for guys parting out early A's. I just scored a nice one out of a four door.

The K members are different beginning in 1967 and will not interchange. However you can put a small block in your 66 with a set of V8 motor mounts.

I was able to get the cables from the local parts store...I think Napa or O'reillys...they ended up giving me the wrong ones several times...i kept getting the ones for the 10" brakes and needed the 9" for my 66.
