I had the same issue...I ended up pulling the sending unit and found that the Copper float had cracked, would fill up with fuel and sink to the bottom of the tank. I let the fuel evaporate out of the float and soldered back up the cracks and voila it worked again. I know they sell replacement...

The K members are different beginning in 1967 and will not interchange. However you can put a small block in your 66 with a set of V8 motor mounts. -Jake

I was able to get the cables from the local parts store...I think Napa or O'reillys...they ended up giving me the wrong ones several times...i kept getting the ones for the 10" brakes and needed the 9" for my 66. -Jake

Hey guys, I recently went to replace the trun signal canceler in my 66 and found that not only was the plastic cam broken but so was the other plastic piece behind the cam. I am looking for a replacement as i am only able to find the cam. Thank you. -Jake

I went ahead and hooked it up w/out the condenser and everything seems to work as it should. I dont notice any static over my radio, but i am running it through the 46 year old dash speaker. Thanks for all the help guys! Its really nice not to have to guess how much fuel i have left or wonder...

On your 66 you just remove the dash cluster and they are accessible on the back. Drop the steering column and pull the four screw holding in the instrument cluster. -Jake

Unfortunately the part already got ordered. Is there anyway to tell if its a points type regulator short of pulling it apart? Also, if it is the solid state version do i run it without the condenser hooked up? Thank you for the help Mark -Jake

Well it looks like we got it chased back to the missing "instrument cluster voltage regulator". The part is completely missing from the back of the dash. It also looks as if there is a condensor back there that hooks into the voltage regulator. We got the highbeam light and the oil pressure...
