    Torsion Bars

Here's the comment I was looking for. I'm considering these bars for my 66 w/ a slant. Thanks for the discussion, it also answered a ton of my questions.

[FOR SALE] A904 (TF6) torque converter, new.

I boughttbought thing from Cobra transmission. It's for a 66 slant 6. Unfortunately, it turns out the engine I purchased was a later model. I had to get a different torque converter. Consequently, this is just been taken up room in my life for the last year. I'd rather it go to someone...

    Swapping from 170 to 225

If anyone is curious, the swap went well. Thanks for the advise. After inspection, it appears someone put a post 67 engine in my 66 valiant parts car. So, I got really delayed when the output shaft didn't fit properly. No worries, there are always parts somewhere. Swapped the flywheel and...

    Swapping from 170 to 225

Thanks for the info. I was hoping this was the case. If you make the arrangements, you can have it. I have nowhere to store it and its probably headed to the scrap yard, though I'll try to make a post and see if anyone wants it.

    Swapping from 170 to 225

I have a 170 w/ automatic currently. It runs, but that's it. I ran across a 225 that was in much better shape, so I purchased it. The 225 was originally attached to a standard transmission. Now I am sitting here wondering if I am going to need another flywheel. I'd like to find out before I...

Been gone for a while, but my 1966 Valiant has returned from the shop.

Ya, long story short, I often did not have money and he was often busy with other jobs. So, a slow series of payments and a loose work schedule drew it out. But, no charge for storage, so I can't complain. I wish i had a picture of the before, but I'm bad with pictures. The front driver's...

Been gone for a while, but my 1966 Valiant has returned from the shop.

We had a deal where he would work on it in his spare time and I would pay him when work got completed. 4 years later. Here we are. Next tasks in descending order of urgency: Suspension (front is sagging), engine swap (already have a smooth running slant 6), and interior (no clue where to...

Output shaft bent on a 904

I don't know what options this thing came with. It has a power steering, radio, heater and 4 doors. When i got it, it had the original radio, which was neat, but I figured someone who is building up an original car could use it more, so I sold it and put in a real stereo. Other than that, no...

Output shaft bent on a 904

Well, alls i know is that i just found a freshly rebuilt transmission, swapped it out and the car has been running great ever since. I didn't notice before, but the transmission shifted poorly as well. Lesson learned: It doesn't hurt to dump a little extra cash for the right fix.

Output shaft bent on a 904

I do realize that the output shaft requires a full dis-assembly. Luckily I have a good mechanic who is better at such things than me. Typically i do all my own work, but when it comes to the insides of a transmission, i leave it to a professional. Anyway, we know that its bent because he put...

Output shaft bent on a 904

I had violent shaking in my car. I suspected it was the driveshaft, but I replaced the driveshaft and it returned. Sure enough, the output shaft is bent. I have looked around for a new one, but I can only find one from a Jeep 1960 and up...
