Thanks Mate. The hole in the metering block is what was done years ago so you can reuse your old Holley jets without going to buy a whole bunch of bigger methanol jets. When I ran injection on meth I used to restrict fuel at idle to build heat, so with a carb I don't see why I can't intoduce air...
Has anybody run a Methanol carb here. NA Carb very lite car. I just got a BLP 750 from a work mate which come off a speedway car SBC running at around 7,000 has 144 jets front and rear AND power valves. Seems mega rich to me?
Well I was just thinking last night about talking to my best mate Jim about getting him to take a bit off the top with his mill.
I actually measured the piston above the deck yesterday with my dial indicator at .063" Yep us Aussie's have some killer wild life.
Thanks for your thoughts. Car runs on methanol so fuel isn't an issue. Gaskets shown are copper from a few years ago but photo shows pistons
Gasket I used last night to check ckearances is a used FP8553
Hello all. I've come across some "J".heads from a 1970's C/Gas car. They've been shaved enough to consider them closed chamber heads now. I have KB pistons with small domes that protude a bee's dick above the deck. With a second hand FelPro head gasket and some plasticine on the piston I can...
Hello. Just thinking about air density. It's generally between 95 and 105 f and very dry here when we go racing. What sort of weather do you race in? Have you ever gone from this type of weather to cool weather without changing your setup and if so what difference did you see in performance?
Just a final post script to all this. I have picked up a set of ported iron heads from a late 1970's early 1980's Gas class car that ran 10.20's at 2400lbs. Just have to clean 'em up and buy a set of valve springs and see what difference that makes. Wish me luck.
What gives here with Holley? According to the size chart the only difference between the 870 and the 750 is a sixteenth in the back venturi the 750's way ?? Unless I misunderstood the chart?
