Just another build thread - Sort my combo!

So I'm finally moved in to the new shop! or at least my half of it :p I'm curious about a sort of DIY hot tank using lye. I've heard of folks dropping parts in a bath of drain cleaner (or some other form of sodium hydroxide) and water over heat. Anyone tried something like this? Looks like...

Seconded! itd be neat to hear from folks whove used em. Heres pics of mine, excuse the mess. in the process of moving shop  This one just seems to be split plenum and then individual runners. Theres a small gap below the plenum divider bove the base, hard to make out in the pics...

Its been a while! family/legal garbage really postponed this for a while I got an amazing deal recently on some misc parts, and came with was an Offenhauser tunnel ram for a 440. base and top, all polished and lookin sexy, setup for dual quads. Practically given to me. SO you can probably see...

    Starting a BB Duster project

If you're looking for data on the extra load on your engine, you might as well include your drivetrain as well. There's no reason to care about your engine accessories if you're not going to take your trans/driveshaft/diff/wheels/axles into consideration too, and they'll likely draw much more...

    Starting a BB Duster project

Not quite. Torque is the determining factor on engine load, not hp (even though yes, they're closely related). That's why a truck with 300hp would probably have no trouble towing a 3-ton trailer, when you definitely wouldnt try to tow that trailer with a 300hp civic. An engine with higher...

Thanks for all the info guys! For the E-Streets vs the Performer RPMs, would that be a better call here? I'd be more than willing to make the price difference if there's a noticeable performance advantage. The stats and reviews between the two were very similar. Do you have more info on this...

My life is a lie  oh well, the 727 was my first choice anyway. I'll just have to find a donor trans or maybe just trade someone for a 727 car trans

Oh I meant swapping internals and tailshaft housing. I've heard of people swapping internals and output shaft between the 727 and 904, but Im not sure if swapping the housing works too tbh. Im not actually sure if that'll swap over, anyone done this? They look identical, but...

This'll be my first real performance build, so I'm gonna lean on all your experience a ton! I have a low-compression 440 out of an RV that I'm building for my barracuda. I have a 727 with it, but it has the shortened tailshaft with the u-joint yolk instead of a normal slip joint. I'll have to...

    Crazy accident at a track

This showed up on Reddit in a few places too. I never heard anything about a heart attack at the time, in fact you can see the driver holding the brakes after that first spin... The articles I saw all claimed that both drivers were fine. This was during the burnout stage which is why the other...

    65 barracuda

These guys speak from experience, they know what they're talking about on this one. But "I just want a big block A Body" is certainly a valid reason to dive into that project anyway! Stuffing a 360 in there would be worlds easier, cheaper, possibly even make it faster, but none of that matters...

My first Mopar - '69 Cuda Notchback

Hey, another mod top! Y2 paint code too? Though this one has definitely been resprayed. More pics once I got it in the sun and grabbed the fender tag. BH23

Thanks! Also, @mycuda you got any more pics of that hood? Is that a mesh?

My first Mopar - '69 Cuda Notchback

I agree! The vinyl top was removed when it got repainted, but I verified that it's a real ModTop and then registered it at MoPar Mod Top and Mod Interior Registry as well. Once I'm finished having fun with the 440, I want to put that original 318 back in it and restore it right. I'm promising...

My first Mopar - '69 Cuda Notchback

Hey all! So glad this forum exists, the amount of info and experience stashed here is unbelievable! I found a 69 Barracuda notchback on CList last summer, and it was a good enough deal that I had to have it. It's a ModTop car, original 318 auto, that's had the engine swapped for another, more...
