Hi cudamark I may still need the drivers side front fender & defiantly the front spoiler piece that holds the turn signal, only a 63 will work.
Thanks! Jeff
OK I have the wires pulled through the column the trick was to use a flat head screw driver to help direct the wire into square opening one at a time! So glad that's done!
Cheers!
Jeff
I tried that I cant seem to even get just one taped brass connector to get into the steering column. I seems like where the brass & old wire come together does not flex enough to make it into the square opening in the steering column. Maybe I'll try some pulling lube that's waxed based.
How do you pull the wires for a new turn signal switch through the steering column of a 63 valiant. I have the steering wheel off. The new brass connector clips do not seem to want to make into the slot in the upper part of the steering column while pulling them with old wires.
Thanks!
Jeff
You should have dash lights some times the head light switch part that works like a potentiometer, when you turn the head light switch just before the click that turns on the dome light is worn out, sounds like you need a new head light light switch.
Hi bumnround I just removed the BRAKE / Turn Signal assembly by the one phillips head screw that holds it to the steering collar I never split the assembly. Where I put washer was under the phillips head in order to press the two plastic pieces together better to make a good contact. I picked up...
Can't believe it I found a parts car down in San Diego the turn signal switch seems to be in better shape then mine only $15.00 I'll plug it in first to see how it works before I pull the wires through the steering column.
Cheers Jeff
For now the break lights are working as long as you make sure that the turn signal lever is in the middle position E-Bag has one for $350.00 a bit steep for me & I can't tell if it's old new stock or just used, I bought a side view mirror on E-bay last month the chrome was great but when you...
Thanks every one for there help it's defiantly was the turn signal switch in the steering, I cleaned it up the best I could but it was still having a hard time making a good connection on red wire which was the left break light so I used a larger washer to hold the contacts on the turn signal...
