Slant six's have a plastic gear on the bottom of the dist. They get brittle with age. I have had them to break off before. Maybe yours is broken or maybe just a couple of teeth are broken. I would pull the dist. and check.
I agree, this is a really good clutch set up. I have been running them for many years. When I first bought one it was 2800#s the last time I ordered one it was 2600#s or maybe 2400#s, can't remember which.
I forgot, the clutch & pressure plate is a McCloud B&B long style 2600# with a Ram 10.95 brass 3 pad disc with the sprung hub. It is the only one I have found that will run for 3-4 or even 5 seasons.

The rear center hole is drilled deeper in some transmissions. That is where the bolt with the longer shoulder goes. It is made that way to line up the side cover better. After you install the side cover "snug" the bolts up ( not to tight) and then tap lightly on the bottom of the side cover to...
Beautiful car! Where did you get the "face tooth" 2nd. gear and slider? When I bought my 3rd. & 4th Libertys gears said they didn't have it for 2nd. gear.
Just looked at the pictures of the adapters and they are right you do have the wrong one but if you change it and still have trouble remember what I posted about the levers.
I can't tell from the pictures but it looks like you have the 3-4 and the reverse levers switched ( the levers- not the rods) The 3-4 lever should be a little bit longer than the reverse lever. Also the rectangle hole in the levers are angled instead of straight on some levers so you have to...
