I've been thinking doing a Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde exhaust set up on my duster, but I don't know what the parts are called and thought I might give it a shot and see if anybody on here has any idea on where to get the parts or at least what their called.
Well Ive been thinking and both blocks are the same. Besides bigger bore, heads, etc. Here's my first question. Don't both engines just need 5 quarts of oil? If so couldnt you just swap the oil pans to make them fit in their new homes?
Well after further investigation I beleive what's gone on is the original owner thought they could squeeze a couple extra mpg so they threw the single barrel carb from the slant six on to the 318. That's the only thing I can think of that would make since for that single barrel to be on.
Well with the details I just found out with putting the 360 in I don't think I want that much hassle. I think I'll be keeping my lil 318 around for quite a bit longer. Thanks you guys!!!! This is by far the best site I could ask for. Especially for someone young and new to the world of mopar.
I'm just gnna get straight to the advice I need. I've got a 73 Duster. There's a 318 that's sat for 18 years but still runs like a champ. There's a guy at my church that has a 76 dodge 3/4 ton with a 360 that he's willing to give me the engine if I put in my 318 in his truck for him. The 360...
It's been quite sometime since I've been on here. Thank you all for the advice. It's sounding like it'll be a couple years till I'll be able to finally do everything I want to do. Either way thank you every much for all the advice this newbie to mopar needed.
To Mopar to ya: Idk if I want to purchase anything just yet. I just wanted to know what your guys answers were.
and to 1970duster: Thanks! Im gnna be adding some horse to it later on but not close to 500 at all!!!
What would be the best set for headers to us on a 73 plymouth duster 318? And what I mean by best is a set that can snake through the engine comparment and not be in the way of anything.
I need the sealer/gasket that goes around the filler neck that seals the gas tank. I need to know where I can purchase one without having to buy the neck with it. Pls and thank you for all who can help.
Well bendix is the brand and they are legit! And I hate to tell you this I had wagners on the front and brakes best on the back(oreilys brand) and my drums would not fit over! I used bendix each drum is slipping on like a glove.
