How to ruin a classic muscle car era Mopar

Well, assuming it's not the For Sale or How-To section, the point of a post is to garner a response. Therefore, my opinion of the OP's post was asked for...

How to ruin a classic muscle car era Mopar

<sigh.> I have to wonder why some folks need their unsolicited opinions validated by others. Well, if only folks would get my approval before they buy wheels and tires, paint their cars, or modify them in any way, I promise you the hobby would be much better for it... Look, almost NO ONE...

Daily Driver Recommendations for the Wife

OP is replacing a sedan, so I suggested a sedan. Mine's been fantastic, and trouble-free for 90K miles. My 2010 Mazda 3 and 2012 Mazda 5 were also totally reliable, which is why I've stayed with them. I can't speak to the CX9. I don't drive/need an SUV, and despite public popularity, I don't...

Daily Driver Recommendations for the Wife

LOVE my 2014 Mazda 6 sedan. Good mileage, handles GREAT, and is one of the prettiest sedans ever. Nothing but regular maintenance in 7 years. Not as common as Camry's and Accords, but if you can find one, they're worth a look.

    Upper control arm help

On my '67, the 50-year-old sleeves had rusted (welded) themselves permanently to the bolts, on both sides of the car. After trying fire, lots of penetrant, and a few other alternatives, a Sawzall and multiple blades finally did the trick. It wasn't easy. vm

    Full custom garage...

One of my favorite car shows! My 13-year-old son and I watch every episode. With his calm demeanor, I call him the "Bob Ross" of car builders. vm

    Intermittent Misfire

    I'll try that next. Thx!

    Intermittent Misfire

Yes, I had a slant six, so I have practice adjusting valves, and they're still there on my 273. Adjusted them a few months ago, and it ran better, and got rid of the faint popping from the exhaust at idle. Agreed – the SP-2P is crappy for performance, but perfect for max fuel economy that I'm...

    Intermittent Misfire

Those are all valid points, and I do intend to purchase and carry a back-up Pertronix module for emergencies anyway. I'd also considered running full power via a relay directly from the battery, as I've read that HEI ignition needs full 12v power, and I thought it could apply to the Pertronix as...

    Intermittent Misfire

First off, I SUCK at diagnostics. I've known since I was a kid that "parts-replacement" is the worst way to solve a mechanical problem, and this situation reinforces that. Even though I know better, I've been replacing parts in an effort to solve an intermittent misfire at idle/low RPM of at...

    A-904 Interchange

I (re)confirmed with Rob at A&A Trasnmissions that the kickdown works with 904's as well. Thanks for the head's up!

    A-904 Interchange

Will do. The car seems to be original/unmodified, so if it's a 318, it's still dressed as a 273. It also seems to be a fairly low-mileage car for it's age. I'll probably just live with until the future 5.2 Magnum swap (someday). But this little motor won't die – it just runs better and better...

    A-904 Interchange

That would be easiest. I did some looking around, and A&A only lists this kit for the 727 trans. I've emailed them to ask if it will work on the 904, but I'm not optimistic.

    A-904 Interchange

Really enjoying my 273-powered 1967 Dart Convertible, but I've realized that I miss part-throttle downshift from my previous (newer) Mopars from the 70's. I have access to a 904 from a '74 318 Charger, but I vaguely recall something about a flexplate or torque convertor change between '67 and...

    What are these called?

Awesome. I now remember seeing these things on the axles of my Tonka toys when I was a kid, but couldn't have told you what they were called. Thank you! vm
