O.k. guys, some co-worker's and I are thinking about doing the big swap. Out with the slant 6 and in with the 360 and 904 tranny. I have 90% of the parts. Now, how hard of a project is this going to be? I have the bigger torsion bars, schumacher motor mounts, rebuilt engine, trans will be rebuilt soon, have a guy lined up to shorten the drive shaft, and a 8 1/4 rear. I will be ordering a mallory unilite and coil, alum. radiator etc, etc, etc. How nasty of a job is this going to be? What should I expect? Any advise and help wanted.

Are you doing the swap on your 75 dart?

This swap is a cake walk, read here; http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=10508

Take note on the drivers side pearch. The inside of the pearch I did not cut enuff the first time. The pearch hit the water plug n the side of the 318.

Follow the swap kit instructions and have a bunch of small to large drill bits on hand to make it easy. Measure twice, drill once.

rumblefish360 You fixed him write up

Good job!! Nothing slow about fabo :wav:

Like Rumble said, it's a walk in the park. But also expect the odd little touch of Murphy's Law. You can never complete a job like this without at least a quick visit from old Murph. :)

What exhaust setup and what shifter linkage are you planning on using?

They were my biggest time consumers when I did mine along with routing new steel tranny cooler lines.

my advice would of course be to go for it!!! As oldvart said, leave yourself plenty of time, don't rush because sometimes the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination.

The motor is going into the 75, and I will be using tti headers. One thing I noticed was all the friggen hole's on top of the performer manifold. Whats that all about. I'm going to going with the jegs throttle and kick down bracket (it bolts on the carb).

The holes are various outlet that allow you to hook up various years emmisions equipment so it can be 50 state smog leagal.
Plug what you don't need.

I just completed a swap. I just started a thread titled "Conversion Parts List" under the General Discussion forum. It lists all of the items that I had to purchase to complete the swap. Read it if you want.
