do they make hemi heads for 340/360's? i figure a hemi is just a v8 with hemi heads anyway, since the original hemi was a regular wedge motor and they added hemi heads. if someone does produce heads for these sb's, what kind of hp/tq would you expect out of a '76 360? what kind of fuel economy? im droppin this 360 in my 70 swinger an just thought itd b cool to have a 360 HEMI!

Yes they do (or did maybe they stopped) but they cost 8000 just for the heads! for that cost go find a wrecked SRT8 and swap in the 6.1L (or wait another year and start finding 6.4L) and you still come out cheaper than building a 340/360 with those heads.

I believe you'll find that the Hemi was not a wedge block. It was different. Also, I've never heard of this for the small block. I've read a lot of the "what if" stories, but nothing more. If "they" made some, I wanna see pics and find out who "they" were.

the hemi was not a wedgeblock,it was the first overhead valve V8 from mopar. later in the sixtys the first 426hemis war built on something similar to a rb block but with diferences the plan was probably to make it work with the old rb block without to many changes,it did now work.
there was a company called rod and custom machine some years back that made hemiconversions for smallblock mopars, kind of expensive and not to impressive flownumbers.

if you are realy bent on 360HEMI get a newstyle 5.7 get a custom stroker crank and call it a 360HEMI if you want or destroke a 426,or overbore an old 354hemi.
none of these options make any real sense.

I'd bet a lot of money that you could put together a carbed version of a 5.7/6.1 for less money than the price of those heads

Hey burnt, I'm surprised that thread didn't go further. I love it, It's another case of, "If ya can't beat'em, join'em!"
Next they have small block 18* Chevy heads! HA HA HA HA

Oh wait, they did that allready. Nevermind.

as said above there are differences between the RB blocks and hemi blocks (5th head bolt in lifter galley come to mind)...

and as far as i know stage V used to make them... i rememebr it was in a 90's mopar magazine...
