as i am always stuggling to find ways to keep up with the high end camaro crowd,i worked off some of thier parts. i made up some spring eye bushings from delrin. it is a hard plastic material with very good wear properties and it is slick also,so no binding like poly. i only made a set for the upper rear spring eyes to try them out and it seemed to help. i may try to do some of the big front spring eyes down the road when i have time.

Delrin is awesome. I machine parts for work using it all of the time. Very tough stuff.

Those are something I would buy. I have been asking a millwright friend of mine to make me a set of those at work, but he hasn't had time.

Good idea.

Would nylon or acetal also work?

Black might be less noticeable.

Me too!!!
! Hasnt Delrin been around since the 50's? Why on Gods green earth hasnt anyone done this before?

i will take enough for two sets of leaf springs and 4 front big eye bushings. i want those. they could be pink for all i care

You are doing bushings for both ends of the leaf? I will take both ends. Any idea on price yet?

Delrin isn't cheap, not always readily available when I have looked for it. We use it to make conduit proofing mandrels out of for work. Very solid and near as I can tell nothing will stick to it either.

lmao! you guys are killing me! i wasn't planning on mass producing, but i may be able to do a few sets. can't promise a time of delivery also.
i thought about black, but we had the white and i like the way it looks actually. black would be a good way to cheat in the FAST series i guess. DSE makes frontend bushings for camaro's out of the stuff, the cal them del-a-lum bushings for some reason.
i haven't done the front spring eye yet,but that shouldn't be a big deal. just need a factory new bushing to go off.
i took my car out the other day,and although i changed alot of stuff, they did seem to help keep the rear from moving around. a one time greaseing and never worry about them again, and no squeaking like poly! i will figure something out if enough people want them. i will be really busy for at least a couple weeks with the race in jersey and all.

Oh cmon now dont be bashfull!Lol..anyways Im thinking they would work very well with a cal trac (ideally front bushing is solid). Soo being a bit pesty, hopefull of a ballpark figure is all....

bear with me,i'll see what i can do.

Sounds great and thanks! I may be in for a set,but for me it is price dependant. I await your announcement..

I'd like a set of those too. Tired of the squeeky polys. Put me on your list. The Delrin is great stuff. I used a lot of it where I used to work for machine change parts. We also used UHMW quite a bit too. Just as tough a Delrin and for some applications, it lasted longer.

I think John (Badart) needs to add this to his line up :D When I was in the R/C car business long ago, we had lots of parts made of delrin. It was easy to dye too, they'd come the natural white color and we'd make them whatever color we wanted......even hot pink!

It's funny that you say that Craig. The other day I made a set of axle sliders for my BMW G650X out of delrin. I refuse to pay $100 for something that is designed to be destroyed. :D
