Who's got them? Which ones did you use? Pics? Are you happy with them?

Car is on stands for a motor rebuild thought it would be a great time to get it done.

I have the us car tool sub frame connectors that weld to the bottom on the floor.

Use the search feature and you'll find dozens of threads about sub frame connectors. And yes, I have the Mopar Performance ones welded in place. Best $100 I spent that year.

Make sure the car is not on stands when you put the subframes in (especially if you are welding them against the floor. Having it sitting on all four tires is a must to reduce the chances of body flex when you take it off the stands.

It's okay for the rear end to be on stands, since this mimics the car sitting on the ground, but the front end needs to be sitting as it would on the ground as well.

I used the Mopar Performance ones and they fit great, but they're fairly pricey. There is a member here who makes them much cheaper, and I'd use those if I had to do it again.

this is probably the single best chassis modification you can do to your ride. you can spend big money and buy them. i think mopar sells em for 180. i bought a set and when i got them they were a joke and i sent them back. i ended up making my own. they cost me a total of $50. i may have gone a little overboard with the 3"x3"x 1/8th wall but i want my car to be stiff and i dont want to cage it. here a a few pics.

I just bought the bolt in ones from Mancini Racing at Carlisle last week. I will be welding them in though. They are nice thick walled tubing.

if they do not touch the floor pan in any place i would recommend putting in a couple small angle brackets to connect them to the floor in a couple small spots. that will help tie it all together. just my opinion. there are alot of ways to do it. any of them are going to improve the chassis.

Whats the consensus on through the floor as oppossed to formed and
welded to the floor like the Autobodies?

I finally got around to getting mine installed. I based my design off a design I seen in another thread. I used 1-/1/2" x 3" .120 wall. I got (2) 72" legnths off ebay for $50. Could have saved even more money if I bought 4' lengths which is all I used, but I wanted extra materal incase I messed something up. I could NOT find any locally. Every supplier in town want to only sell me 16' legnths. So total investment $50 and maybe 6 hours of work. Also The .120 wall I went with might be a little on the thick side. A .100 or .85 wall would be enough and would even save you a few more buck.

I cut each 6' tube down to 48" and used back section I notched out for the frame to fit into for the front plate of the connector. Then went over them with black paint. Later I will cover them with spray on underlayment from Eastwood to replaced the underlayment I had to grind off to weld them in. I did have to remove the E-brake cable. Where it came through the front rail was right is the spot for the front plate. I intended to just move it enough to get the connectors on, but 40 years of rust the nut on the cable would not budge. So I just cut it. My car doesnt need an E-brake anyway. I never used it in the 10years of owning the car anyway. The 1-1/2" didnt require any floor work. I does just touch the floor in the back half. from the photo you can see I also bent up the back half slightly for a more contour fit.
