'72 Demon Sizzler ?s

Awesome color combo IMO.

340 4 gear car. Should have an 8.75 under it for sure.

No hood stripes, side stripes and tail panel striping.

Think I'd be happier with finding that it's a true 340/4spd Demon in Winchester Grey over a cosmetic package Sizzler with the hood stripes for sure. That is one sharp color, and not often seen. Nice car.

Looks good to me.:burnout:

TRUE 340 car will aways be worth more then a true Sizzler...... nice !

just for the sake of argument, im about 98% sure every rallye wheel that left the factory had a trim ring , with the exception of the spare.... and if im wrong, id like to see something that says different.....

Not on the Sizlers and Twisters

SIZZLER'S were only in 1971, and they were known as the poor man's 340 Demon. Because at that time insurance rates were climbing as fast as the HP. So they came out with a fast looking low cost and low insurance vehicle. Just sayin"
But what would I know !

Yeah you don't know anything Jim.....Lol:D

I'm sure alot of guys back in the day bought those cars for the cheap insurance and then swapped out the motors and put something bigger and better in it. I know I probably would have done it back then.

I've only seen a few Sizzlers, but I've seen more than a fair ammount of Twisters.

I'd say (without looking at numbers), that there were a slightly disproportionately high number of 3 and 4 speeds in the Twisters (vs even 340 cars), probably to boost the performance image and add driving fun factor.

Here's some pics of my '71 Demon Sizzler.
I will be starting on it next year i hope.
318 column auto Green/Green/Green. My favorite color combo!

Sizzler Package List

Six cylinders were more $$$$ and the Trim Rings were an option. All grilles came color coordinated.

Thanks for all the help guys! It is a 340/4-spd car (the original 340 is gone, but the trans is original). Yes it does have the 8 3/4" rear end. It also has the "snorkel" hood scoop on it. Is there a fender tag code call out for the hood scoop? My buddy is still kicking it around!

Tell him not to kick it around and buy it. I know we all would like to see pics as well.

Weren't the only grilles that were color coordinated, hemi orange, citron yellow and plum crazy. The rest of the colors available were the std grille.

I had some other junk on my mind when I said a scoop was available. Should have written that the scoop was available on Demons in 1972. The sizzler was not around in 1972 as mentioned.

The grilles you mentioned where standard on the Demon Sizzler, any other color was an add on. Not shown in the package book. There were few other options not mentioend in the book.

Correct on the scoops. They were an option on the Demons.

And the Sizzler option (A59) was only in 1971. Things became very quite after that due to the Evangelists complaining about the "Demon" language. Thus the devil was removed form the fender vinyl decal. '72 Demons were a mental stick on emblem minus the devil but the evangelists still complained and wanted the devil completely gone. Thus in '73 came the Dart Sport.

Here's a pic of my Sizzler color keyed grille. This is the last pic of it that I have of it still put together.

I love this car package. Wish there was more info and more or these cars around.

i have seen a number of survior 70 challengers without rings and i am pretty sure the one i had did not have them originally either

sizzlers did not and twister did not either ......the rings were part of a package on some models and promotions and either you had the package or not

every 70-77 (E, B , F) original car ive ever bought or seen that has had rallyes from the factory came with trim rings 14 and 15" and ive had some very original low mileage cars. not to say they all did, just an observation, ive never owned a twister or a sizzler :D

It was a 72 only had a hood stripe kit it can also have a six pack hood scoops like my 72 340 car.
I have had this car for 40 years got it new on 2-14-72. does anyone know how many Demon 340s are left?a real lm29h car. I found out that they only made 2,700 h code 72 Demon 340 and only 200 in the brown.?

Hey, guys.. Im new to this forum and wanted to get some advice. I have a 71 demon sizzler. Some minor changes (non-permanent) changes have been made to it (shatty carpet and headliner). I continually go back and forth debating if I want to restore this to its originally sizzler look or convert to 340 car or just make a nice little 360(since I have one ready to put in) with upgraded suspension, etc. Some have said the value of a true 340 demon is more then that of a sizzler, but is a sizzler worth more then a 340 clone? Ill attach a photo of car and fender tag decode. Its a 318 now by the way not /6...\

**** Obviously the Fender Tag didnt show up right, so here are the codes***
