What does everyone recommend for a good 3 to 4 ton floor jack, Im not having much luck with chinese. Lets here it guys.

Got a aluminum one from Sears. Plenty strong, light enough to carry. Not real wild about the saddle, does not have much bite to it....will look for a link.....

It got a ton of very poor reviews. It was a pita to bleed when it was new. Since then I have had zero issues with it. Has been upside down in the back of my truck more than once. After it goes upside down I just leave the it cracked open slightly, so that it will raise the vehicle but not hold it. Pump it a few times, lower the saddle and it will be good to go....

what ever you get make sure its a narrow front so you can get under low stuff. i use a normal one and it sucks!

I've got a Walker (Lincoln) 2.5 ton floor jack.
I've owned it for 30 years.
Had it rebuilt once, back when people knew how to do it.
Now days, all you see is alot of chinese throw away jacks.
I don't even know if Lincoln is still in buisness or if it has been replaced with china jacks with a Lincoln name on them.

1st 3ton I got from Sears didnt hold pressure...
glad I wasnt under the car working (altho I do throw jacks under it when elevated).

First time I used it- jacked car up (didnt put jacks under yet)- when my wife called me inside to grab lunch... came out and the tires were a couple inches from the ground in the matter of 30-40min. Thought maybe I didnt tighten release all the way- but I did. Jacked it back up and left it for an hour... tires were on the ground!
Brought it back to Sears and the guy says, "Youre the 3rd guy to return this type jack"
I said dontcha think it might be a good idea to get it off the floor then??? Hello....? :violent1:

Old Blue and yellow Got my self a lincoln about 10 years ago the way to go!

http://www.hyjacks.com/H22.HTM lists country of origin. I spec'd Norco products as USA made in another thread but feel I must clarify, not all Norco is USA-made. That said, their site has a USA-Made search option. Pretty cool.

Like a good motorcycle, long, low, and lean I think I know where my next jack will come from, and they are straight up about selling an import jack by claiming IMPORT

Hein-Warner is still selling USA made but I've since learned that the parent company is Chinn-Fu or some ****. I'm conflicted on this and that is probably enough that I would pass, but it's better than buying one made in China, I guess.

i have had my lincoln for 25 years and rebuilt it myself.best jack i have ever owned.

Well I ended up getting the napa 3 1/2 ton floor jack it should do what I want.

This is the Gold Standard of floor jacks. Made in U.S.A. & is the same jack as the old Lincoln & Walker jacks that last forever. Hein-Werner bought out Lincoln's jack division & kept their sucessful designs. This will be the last jack you'll ever need to buy! You can get it for far better prices than the Northern link shows.
Check out http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/ for prices.

OTC also make a nice produce, but it is not American made.

Ive had my napa jack about 3 months now and I couldnt be happier with it.

Here's the thing to think about with a floor jack purchase. Would you want to be under a car with just the jack supporting it? Jacks are lifting devices, not supporting devices. We all do it. We've all done it. Grabbed the jack in a hurry and slid under the car to make a quick check or adjustment for ourselves or a friend with no jack stand. That's the criteria to me. It would suck to die because of being a cheap *** trying to save a dollar.

Man I can remember those young and dumb days. I think about it now and cringe.
