kelsey hayes vs f/m/j swap

What I have found after years of owning a Corrvette with 4 piston calipers is during the down time go out at least once a month and pump the brakes several times. After doing that I had a problem with a caliper one time in the last 10 years of owning it. The secret is to not let them sit all winter without moving the pistons. Of course stainless will help prevent problems at more expense. If you plan on keeping it a long time going stainless will pay for itself.

Another thing to think about with the F,M,J spindle is the wider track than your KH spindle. The F,M,J will move your wheel out toward the fender an inch each side.

i will have K H brake set ups for sale soon. New reman calipers(all new pistons), new rotors new studs, new seals, new pads, spindle restored and backing plates complete 600.00

does anyone make and sell bbp rotors for the KH set ups?Id like to switch over to bbp and keep the kh.

I just purchased rotors for a 67 mustang I think to use on my 73 KH brakes a little machine work and I now have KH brakes with big bolt

I have another couple of questions. Currently the brakes I have are manual and I want to convert them to power. What would be the easiest way to do this? Would it be to find an A body booster?

Also, could you use a E or B body car booster? I like the way those ones look compared to the A body ones

I think the B & E body boosters are the same as my C-body and mount flush to the firewall, via a flat plate. A-bodies use stand-off brackets to clear the V-8 valve cover, even for slants.

Currently, there is an affordable booster kit on e-bay for ~$170 - brackets, booster, MC. Several posts here, where they had to trim the threaded rod. I got brackets from a junkyard 74 Dart. I used a booster/MC from a Breeze to get a lighter alum setup. I plan to sell the booster to a FABO guy on my upcoming SoCal trip for $15. Boosters are the hard part since the rubber diaphragms fail and rebuilds cost >$100.

Noticed you are in Spokane. If you are going to rebuild the calipers yourself and have a hard time finding the parts you might want to check with the shop over on Market St. Don't remember the name of it but I believe it is south of the shop that sells paint supplies. My buddy that manages the NAPA on Trent has told me that anytime a customer comes in needing something that is not listed in the catalogs he just sends them to the shop on Market. I have a business card somewhere I think.....

http://www.a-and-t-brake-supply.com/ is the place.
