This is my little Hobart Handler wire feed that has tackled about every job I've ever wanted it to do and some more that I never expected! You don't have to spend a ton of dough to get yourself a nice all around wire feed welder. I would however use .023 hardware and some 75/25 gas. I posted a few pictures and some wire speed and voltage settings that I use on my wire feed. This might not be gospel for other brands of wire feeds but it could be a good place to start?

Thanks for the info, I've had my eye open for the right deal on my 1st welder. Much appreciated

once you get a welder and learn to use it. it opens so many doors. it is actually addictive. i got my miller matic 211 and i went nuts with it.

my shifter mount.

my battery ground

the channel for my trans lines

my exhaust

my coffee table.

my bed. lol

Nice welder tools and chart. Where are your welds?

Alright I'll confess to having a Miller Syncrowave which is what I do my GTAW aluminum, carbon and stainless work with but the Handler handles a lot of the basics and I can plug it into 110 all day long!

You guys are a hell of a lot better at it than me!!! When I was a "young gun" there WEREN'T any compact portable MIGs. I screwed around for years not bein' very good at much with a buzzbox or torch. Bought my first little like new/ used Lincoln 110 MIG welder, and a a very few years ago, bought a 180A Lincoln. Can't see like I used to, but a MIG sure slants the world in your direction!!
