i got a 1978 macho as some of you know. and i want to redo the silver in a different color. im thinking 4 colors the choices are blue, orange, yellow or purple. anybody got any comments?

I like the silver.. Don't see too many silver Machos.. I actually have a red 77 long bed...

id leave it silver but they want 300 a gallon for the paint, i work at oriellys and have bills, i cant afford that anybody wanna do me a huge favor and find a paint thats close or spot on and have it be around 50 bucks?

gotta say i love the silver..

wow for once my trucks gets alot of attention lol, i know the silver one sold for 16k that blue one never sold, i love the valve covers on that 79 red one where do i get those to do that paint scheme to? and the green is called citron green, the red is cayon red i beleive but im realy partial to the silver but i cant afford 300 a gallon. but i will hunt some more and use the links provided either color i want valve covers done like that.

yes ...thanks for this thread ...i never used to pay attention to trucks but i can see i am missing out ....this thread is awesome eye candy and interesting read........im sure whatever color you pick will look nice if done properly.

maybe you should try different paint suppliers ......so far that silver price seems a bit out there.

I luv the orange but orange and yellow are usually the sam price range as red. Expensive. Have you looked into PPG's economy line of paint ? Omni is the brand.

i like the silver also!! have you looked at the summit racing paints i think they are around $80 a gallon. but if i had to choose one of your choices i would pick the orange. i love the macho power wagons i had a red 79 and always wanted a silver one.

I like the silver, but the orange would be my second pick. There's no real subtlety with those trucks, so you might as well go full-on... :)

i really like the silver, and adding custom touches is wat i really like, and im gonna grab some spray paint and try it on some old fenders i have and see wat i like best, i only wanna paint it once and it wont be a real resto paint job cause im clear coating mine. i know the valve covers are custom aluminum but where did you get them or are they just full custom from top to bottom? and yes rani these trucks are real eye candy and worth quite a bit of coin when done properlly, i estimate that with mine it should be a 6 or 7k truck when done
