So sad to see this, caught it the other day and couldn't watch it, that show sucks and after this episode I will never watch it again :banghead:

They take a super nice Chrysler Imperial, booger it all up with the lame "Green Hornet" crap, then wreck it. Its bad enough they ruined more than 10 in the movie remake, but then they had to wreck one more beauty like this??? :finga:

This one too, they ruined a nice Fury to see if a stupid tissue box would explode your head in a crash :banghead:

And some of the time, they try to imitate a movie stunt, and stuff it up.
One was trying to rip the rear axle out of a car that had the diff housing chained to a telephone/light pole......in the movie scene, the car had a leaf spring rear....they were trying to do it with a car that had a trailing arm (4) rear end....
Another was doing the tailshaft drop, and the car flips over....they reckoned it can't happen........well....it can....it happened to a mate of mine.....he was a passenger in a Holden HQ sedan.....it dropped the front uni at 60mph, and launched them staright up and over on to the roof....slid along the road and rolled down an embankment.....he lost his lower left leg.....the door near cut it off as it was rolling.

My 2 cents.

X2 Keith, the car in question was a dodge cornet I believe from smokey and the bandit
I did enjoy watching them bullet prof a car with telephone books, but it could not stop a 12 gage slug :D but did stop a 45 call and 9mm and down pistil .
Yes I cringed when I seen the imperial getting all shot up and wasted :protest:

They wrecked a pretty clean Jeep Cherokee in one episode too. I was thinking "Damn, I could use some parts off that..".

yes,hey suck, whats worse they do that **** around here.they were messing with a cannon not too long ago and it went into a neiboorhood and thru a house and minivan....idiots...

I've seen the calculations, and I still don't have the foggiest idea how they managed to get that cannonball out of the bomb range. Neither did the bomb techs from the police dept. that were advising them. Its not like they shot the thing through a backyard fence, it skipped up and over a "hill" several hundred feet in elevation above the bomb range and traveled thousands of feet laterally. Check out the map of the incident here. Seriously, zoom in and look at the elevation changes.

Not excusing it, but sometimes accidents happen, even when you've done the math and consulted the experts like they did in this case. The cast of the show went out and apologized to that neighborhood in person, took questions and were grilled by the residents. I doubt you'd see that from many shows. And of course, all the involved residents were well compensated by the shows insurance. Worse things happen to people everyday, and most of the time no one even hears about it.

As far as the car destruction, I've only seen Mythbusters trash a couple of cars that were interesting in any way. And lets face it, 4 door Imperials and Fury's don't exactly have a big following. I'd be willing to bet the show had less than a couple thousand dollars in both of those cars COMBINED. They probably even sourced them from a yard, as they do most of their cars. Did you see the episode with the JATO rocket powered Impala? Don't hear anyone complaining about that one. And that was a 2 door hardtop.

The stupid Dukes totaled 300+ Chargers, and everyone still loves that retarded show. Heck, I've seen dozens of cars parted out on this very forum that were in better shape and in higher demand than either of those cars.

Sorry for the rant. The science on Mythbusters can be a little suspect sometimes, but you have to figure that this is after all a TV show produced for entertainment. And every now and then they do re-visits on experiments that viewers call them out on for scientific mistakes. I'd take Mythbusters over most of the schlock on television any day.

Yep and "I don't get it." So many seem to want a "General Lee."

So, you're (not the you, you, but the "you's" who do this) basing your life's "most favorite car" on one that never existed? At TV/ Movie car? LOL

I liked the one where they tried to deflect a pistol bullet a with a magnet... Duh, they're copper and lead, non-ferrous = non-magnetic. Granted there are steel core rifle bullets but it would pass by so fast, there's no way it could possibly deflect.

I like Mythbusters even though they destroy some cars. I get so sick of the blood and guts shows along with who is doing who soap opera themes.

Maybe I should have worded the title differently, but it pissed me off about that Imperial. There are cool episodes, but after they wrecked that nice car, I will not be watching anymore.

The Dukes car thing is different to me, most of those cars were destroyed when they were common and not worth much.

Well then, I guess you're stuck with this.......

Speaking of Mr. Wizard, something I just found out. He flew a B-24 bomber during the Italian campaign of WWII. He also completed 56 bombing missions over Northern Italy, Germany and Yugoslavia, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters.

Wow, just goes to show that what you don't know could surprise you. Next thing you know, somebody's gonna try to tell me that Mr. Rogers was a sniper and that the reason he wore all those sweaters was to cover up the tattoos on his arms!

Anyway, that being said... Let's go back to Kari! There's just something... dirty about this picture, but I can't figure out what it is...

Funny that you mention this about Mr. Rogers.... I just saw something on MSN that said he was a NAVY SEAL??? Not sure if it is true but if it is Mr. Rogers was really bad *** and not creepy like we thought he was!!

No, he wasn't a SEAL. Contrary to popular urban mythology, Mr. Rogers never served in the military at all. He spent his life as a teacher, Presbyterian minister, and television host.

They were probably given that car by the studio for the Green Hornet Special.

And implying that the Duke's thing was different implies that a 4 door imperial is worth a lot, which, if you look around, they really aren't. Unless you're talking about the Green Hornet movie car, which is still listed on eBay for a ton of money, and STILL hasn't sold. There was one in the local pickNpull not that long ago, I pulled the 8 3/4 out of it. Not exactly the same year as the Black Beauty, I think it was a '67, but I bet there's probably hundreds of those cars sitting in wrecking yards right now.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm sure Mythbusters doesn't pay top dollar for cars they're going to wreck. Which means, if someone wanted it, they could have bought it.

And yeah, if Kari left the show, well, I think they'd find themselves with a much smaller audience...:prayer:
