Street outlaws

Saw that last night, there's some huge coin in those cars. I really liked Flip's El Camino, it sounded like it was running nitro methane or some ridiculous amount of compression.

I watched the show, I kinda liked it, but the drama seems pretty stupid, like Bigdummy said, "they all get along" so it must be fake for TV. I will keep watching :burnout:

I watched it too. I've seen U tube video of that farm truck running 10's in the quarter. Used to street race back in the 80's, but nuthin like these guys!

That farm truck cracks me up, I love it!

I will have to try and catch this show, If the truck is an old long wheel base chevy about a 72 model I have seen it run, unbelievable fast :burnout:

Saw the show briefly between innings of the RED SOX game, but thought it was more important to stay tuned to the game. The good news is the SOX held on to win the bad news is after 14 innings they won't have any pitching for a few days.

Oh the show..... yes it looked like it was going to be too much like the towing show with the fake fights and over dramatic interviews. I think I will pass on this one.

I agree...I made it about 15 minutes into the show before turning it off.

The people on the show didn't seem like some the brightest people on the planet.

Also to me it makes us Hot Rod/Classic/Muscle car guys look bad...giving the general public another reason not to like old cars.

what a stupid show.. guy says he would rather race then pay his house bills. has little kids at home and has already done 4 months behind bars and is risking more time there.

hopefully most of the stupidity is made up for tv..

Yup...also read that a lot of the race footage was filmed in Moore before the storms. Here is a vid of Flips last burnout

Interesting show, like any reality show, it is scripted somewhat for the drama.
I know a few of the people on it.
There is that thing about street racing that is exciting.
I used to do it during the Drag race off season. Put mufflers on the race car & street race it.
But we always drove to where we were racing, no trailers.
Then again, back in my day, a 11 second car was fast on the street.
It does amaze me about people who put their familys, work, buisneses at stake.
I love cars, but my family doesn't go broke to fund it.
Some people are just that way. A habit is a habit.
The thing that gets me, is the amount of cash out there.

Discovery had to spice it up.All those guys get along by the way

Thats why i stopped watching discovery. Its no longer the science and learning channel. Its now "the drama channel for dumb rednecks"

I don't even think they have science on that show anymore. Just god awful reality shows.

I watched it for a little while,it reminds me of a couple of documentarys back a few years ago on nat. geo. about street racers in Chicago,Detroit not sure which. Damn fast cars, crazy somebitches but as stated prior too much drama/scripted and stupid amounts of cash spent/wagered while the house/family suffers. To each his own but i'll pass on watching it again.

Yep, stupid show, I got 15- 20 minutes into it and had to change the channel. The drama crap needs to go, then it "might" be worth watching.

After watching the 2nd episode I can't watch another. The cars are real but the drama sux

Unfortunately it's what the younger generation thrives on today. My youngest ALWAYS has to be in the thick of things for the drama rush, she is so caught up in it she has a tough time understanding simple things.

Being from Oklahoma i tried to watch the show last night for the first time. My cousin dated a girl somehow related to the guy with the pickup. yadayadayada. Anyhow, what a terrible representation of people from Oklahoma. I don't agree with street racing. too many people can get hurt or killed.

A friend of mine briefly dated a girl who was on a hairstyling reality show. She said that the director would do crap like tell her to make out with someone on camera, just because. It doesn't surprise me in the least.

I've been interviewed by news, several times for different reasons, ranging from sole homicide witness to car show coverage.

All I can say is that you can trust television about as much as you can interact with it.

As far as street racing goes, no. I've seen too many cops, run from them (thankfully in a truck with 35" BFG's so we could avoid being surrounded), hearing about nightmares of guns at fast food restaurants over prize... I've had my fill.

I tell my kids all the time....nothing on TV is real....NOTHING!! Especially reality TV!! Can't believe a minute of any of it, and not a single car show is representative of "reality"!!

When they start a Mopar how to show, then maybe ill watch!!

The show sort of turned me off. I dont really like the whole "we have the fastest street cars in the nation" thing they always say...they trailer them to street where they are racing...I wouldnt consider them street cars and for anyone who would I sure there are plenty of faster cars out there on the streets. I know of one personally but these guys mouths are just a little too big. Unless its just for tv and then its sad seeing them act that way.

I'll keep watching it. It's drag racing, and it's way better then "Won and Done"! But yeah, the drama is stupid.

They seem like a bunch of good guys on tv, but their are some douchebags on there website, just saying................
