I have a '70 Dart with a 340 and TTI Headers. I just replaced the slant six K member with a V8 K member. I have had a issue with the number 7 primary tube contacting the steering box before. Now it seem to be closer with the V8 member. Should I shim the motor mount up for more clearance?:burnout:

the less shims the better. when you raise the engine it effects the drivetrain angles and will effect the u-joints if you get too carried away. when i built my car i welded 1/4" plates to the engine mounts on the k-member and then did the same to the trans cross member. i had interference between my idler arm stud and the headers. i raised the entire engine and trans 1/4".

you can run the schumaher poly lock motor mounts. they are alot stiffer than the old rubber mounts.

Are those the same exact measured thickness and hole location as a factory type motor mount?

Are your engine brackets in the correct location on the motor block tabs?

Doesn't #7 header tube go down and over the torsion bar?....don't think it is anywhere near the steering box...or am i missing something here?
