Question regarding my wife and her health

-
I`ve been having some problems lately - bad headaches, dizziness, lightheaded, fatigued. The Dr`s found nothing after ear/sinus, Lyme and other blood tests, and an MRI. I think mine was a combo of things that built up. I have had stress attacks and have arthritis both of which which cause poor sleep so I drank coffee and took aprazalam, Ibuprofen for the hedaches and it just snowballed till I felt horrible. Luckily my money problems that were the main cause of stress have gotten better and I`ve limited caffeine and the pill popping and things have improved. Sometimes the side effects cause more problems than they fix. See if she can stop or change meds or go without any if possible. Good luck man!

My prayers go out to you & your wife. Prior to the illness have there been any changes to her environment, food intake, slip n' falls etc...
Keep searching you may find the answer before the doctors do.

Prayers have been sent for y'all.

I know there are crystals in ear canal that get out of place that can cause balance issues. It sounds like your wife's issue is too bad for this to be it.

my wife has had the crystals in her ear out of place ..she can only lay on her left side ...gets dizzy in different ways ..they didn't see this right away because they usually get dislodged when you have some kind of head injury ...she didn't ...she had to go to physical therapy where they got the crystals back where they belong ..she was good for almost a year and has had to go back ..she is well now but who knows about the future ..God bless

You and your wife are in my prayers. Doctors do make mistakes...they're human. You are smart to question their prescriptions...especially if it's not improving the condition. Some people are wired differently and the planned effect of a prescription can be 180 degrees off...I have a friend who has experienced that. Best wishes through these tough times.

have you tried a different sugar monitor? A friend of mine got all messed up similar to this and it turned out to be his monitor was giving false reading and when trying to get sugar level right it was making it worse. Prayers for you to find an answer soon and things get back to normal.

First, prayers and thoughts your way. Hoping all works out. Definately get her tested for lyme disease.....Its a know thing BUT often forgoten about. It can effect the nervous system to the point of Dr.s treating pts. as if they had M.S........Just a good thought. BTW dont take no for any answer your not sure of

Has anyone examined her thyroid? The thyroid can produce a myriad of symptoms that would point to everything else but the thyroid itself.
That is my uneducated guess and I am sticking to it

So What I'm getting is she may have to lay off all treatments for her various issues due to side affects. Wow that is interesting. Why would the Dr.s keep giving her this type of medication in the first place????
I had about the same thing, only I'd also pass out, be standing, sitting or laying down, be alert and talking to you and I'd go out like flipping a switch, they never did find out what's wrong, I got fed up and quit all the meds and treatment and I'm doing a whole lot better, but I think a lot of mine has to do with my nerve deafness, as I still stager when I walk and my balance sucks.

Was she treated with high powered antibiotics prior to the dizziness? Such as vancomycin. Or the drug lasix given IV? Both of these drugs can cause permanent inner ear disturbances if given to rapidly IV.

No on the antibiotics. She went to the eye Dr today and got new contacts, Her vision is somewhat improved but the dizziness still persists. She goes back to the ENT Dr tomorrow. I will update as soon as I know. Thanks for all the help and suggestions, keep em coming as I am writing these down and am asking the Dr's.

Can they safely treat Meniere's disease without making her dependent on narcotic Valium type drugs?

Yes. Watch the salt, diet and they take some diuretic. Usually only take something stronger like Dramamine if having an issue. Hope the Doc figure it out.

First let you know that our prayers are with you and your wife. Never forget.. pray is a powerful tool..

I'm new to this site but I'm old enough to know health problems and I want to recommend something that has helped me. I just found out about it this past year and it started out with a book someone suggested to me, I purchased it and never did really read it until I seen the doctor that wrote it in a public tv station interview. I started reading the book and it is really something else to read.

You have nothing to lose by checking it out.
The doctors name is Dr William Davis, a praticing cardiologist. The title of his book is: Wheat Belly.
Here is a link to a interview CBN had with him recently.
http://www.cbn.com/tv/1407079598001 there's also some on youtube.

With prayer it may be a help.

I hope the Doctor visits gave you some help too.

That happened to my mother...thyroid problems can cause all sorts of weird symptoms! (Hers made her get dizzy if she bent over. Also, once, she actually passed out when she...sneezed. Weird.)
