Hey folks ? Is there anyone who is running a 325/50 on a 15x8" rim ? I know a 325/50 is best suited to a 10" wide rim . I have a 70' Dart Swinger that's mini tub'd with standard length diff and diff will be moved back 1" . I'm curious to know if a 325/50 will fit comfortably on a 15x8 and maybe provide a little extra clearance on both sides of the wheel well . My 69' Dart had 15x10" rallyes ( 3" fs 7" bs ) with N50/15s ( which I believe are similar dimensions to the 325/50 drag radials ) and they were tight but that is the look I'm going for but hopefully without the grief .Would anyone have pics of this wheel/tire combo ?

Thank you in advance ! Take care !

I was told I needed at least 10 rims. I also intend to install 325-50-15 on my 68 dart.I have 15x8 draglites with 275-60-15 and was told 325-50-15 would bulge to much on the sides and there would be less of a footprint to the ground. I believe they said there was a danger of the bead letting loose when corning with a tire that wide on a narrow rim. I'm not telling u it cant be done, I am just passing on the info I received. I hope this helps.

For what it is worth I was told that when I had a set of 33x12.50's mounted on 7" wheels that it was "dangerous". Yet damn near every guy that had a Ranger pre-runner back then did it with 0 troubles..

From what I understand, at least in my case, that mounting them on a narrower wheel like I did the was sort of like having a built in bead lock....when running them at a lower pressure it took more to pop the beads off of the wheels...

I say no. You never want more than 1" or 2" between rim and tire width.

I'm with WRB, it gives the tire a better door print on the floor. But do what you need to do.

Vince, it's been done. Read about this myself actually a little while ago and some of the 5.0 Mustang guys have done it, but again at what risk? And it looks out of place/mismatched. My final decision was 295/55/15 MT Drag Radials. That's what I'm gonna order soon. I also like the fact that they are 27.8" tall, and the recommend rim width is 8-10" with a measuring rim width of 9" for the given specs. 325's are cool but bigger/heavier and overkill. My Duster is mini-tubbed and springs moved in too. The 295's I think are perfect, and with swapping 3.23 gears to 3.91's I don't a a big fat steamroller 325/50 that's a full 28" tall just dragging my car down hindering performance. It just not needed! I'd rather go quicker with a 295/55 that's gonna provide all the traction I need especially at the track...

What is the width of the 295/55/15 MT's?
