I was having fuel starvation issues at all speeds. Found that my new gas tank had dumped a bunch of gunk into both filters. Now that I have cleaned both filters I am still getting a starvation issue at Hwy speeds when I give it WOT. I'm thinking the pump may have gunk in it. Thoughts? Is this pump even good enough for a 670HP engine? Maybe electric would be better?

-8 main feed to 40 micron filter
Eddy fuel pump 110 GPH
-6 feed line with 100 micron filter
1000 CFM demon

You may have to remove the carb and clean it out also, and I agree that the pump may have crap in it. (especially if it is in the line before the filters)
I don't know about that specific pump, but some pumps also have thier own built in filters.
Just a bit of info so you can be prepared
Hope it helps you get it fixed.

I thought maybe carb dirty as well but the 100micron before feed should have kept it clean.

The 100 micron filter may be the problem. That fine of a filter might be restricting flow. See if there are any flow specs on it.

I figured it out. I was wrong there is a 10 micron on the carb side. Way too tight. Going to a 40 and should solve issue. Thanks.

Seems the 60micron filter has solved the starvation issue. Car running cooler too so I'm guessing the starvation was causing a lean condition. The guy at the speed shop said I should go -8 to the carb but will it really matter with a 1/4 fuel pump inlet. I have -8 from tank to pump.

your fuel line size is just fine. what you might try is holley blue or black pump just after your rear filter. you'll need to use a regulator sat at 5-6 psi after the filter at the front too.

Are you saying use electric in back and keep the mechanical too?

Bob. I didn't get an answer here. Are saying use a prime pump in back or just get rid of mechanical all together?

you can use both but thats overkill, only help with cold starts. Keep your mech.
