My 1971 Demon Rebuild

-
Hey awesome demon!!! Love the pics was it an original B7 blue car? Gotta build it up to whoop the SS Nova in your second pic:mrgreen:

Wondered where you been. Good to see your making progress. Glad to hear things are working out for you. Keep up the good work.:coffee2:

Congrats on the getting picked up for WO. My son is thinking of dropping his papers too. He is a MP at Ft Bliss, TX. The car is starting to look like a real project. parts laying all over, haha. The 1/4 panel looks good. Did you finish the drivers floor yet? Just wondering bout the pinch weld.
Again congrats Chief!!

looks good. if that is an AMD quarter panel..you may have lengthen it at the very top right where the door meets it. i had to put a pie shape chunk in on the end up top. maybe you got a newer and better fitting quarter than the one i got. looks like you re doin a good job and tearing into it. keep it up.

Thanks everyone for the support, I do have a question though? I am going to be doing a ladder bar on the rear end with a coil over spring, should I do the mini-tub? And if so is there anyone on here that is in the Houston/Spring area? I don't have much experience at body work as this is my first project ever, and having someone with experience that could lend a hand would be a huge help!

If you can cut and weld then it's not that hard. There are quite a few threads on here how to do it. It's super cheap if you do it yourself.

So I haven't really been working on the car that much, I have been putting a new sprinkler system and building some new flower beds for the house. I did get some things in from Bill at RMS, but I am still waiting on the second package that has the rest of my brake setup. I also got my fuel cell in from Summit. It's a 20 gallon made by JAZ (24X20X10) I think it will sit nicely between my frame rails. My parents surprised me today and told me they will be in town this weekend so no work on the car this weekend either! The weekend after that I have to play ARMY, so I should be pretty slow for two weeks. Hopefully when I get some free time I can start on the mini tub and trunk mod for the fuel cell.

I guess it would help to upload these....

So...I was originally going to sale the car because I thought I was going to flight school, but that hasn't happen as of yet so I have been working on the car the entire time, (very slowly), but I had forgot about my thread. I am going to blast the thread with a lot of pictures to try and show the progress I have made over the past year or so. Starting with this, I can't remember where I found this rendering, but it is identical to how I want my car to look when it is completed. Minus the 6.1, I'm wanting to use the 415ci that Indy Motors sells.

That pretty much where the car is right now, I have worked on the doors and fenders some, and done a lot of patch/fiberglass work. That's not really fun to look at though, so I just went with the cliff note version of the build status.

Great project! Looks like it's being built at NASA compared to my Duster :D

So I am looking for something to do while the wife is working on her grad school projects...since I don't have the car at the house right now, it seems only appropriate to add some more photos of what I have done thus far.

ooooooo....I like the rear end action!....whose rear set-up / kit is that?....did you put it in yourself?

glad your project got bumped to the top.

Denny

Great work so far! Its going to be bad *** when finished, so keep up the progress. Any progress is good progress. Seeing what you've done so far is helping me get motivated on my 72 Demon!! Thank you for your service!

I had a buddy put it in, he owns a shop in Louisville Kentucky called R&R Chassis. The kit is built by a guy out of Indiana i believe, the company is called race star race products, my buddy has the ladder bar setup in his niva, and I did the four link. Very nice product and a great price in my opinion.

All I have to do now is get your front-end setup Denny, but that's going to be a while I just spent almost the same amount of money for the 4 link and sheet metal work, unless you wanna gift me one for christmas and write it off on your taxes lol!!
