I have this set mocked up here, and in the picture below I actually have the right (passenger side) bar held up in place on the left side. So by swapping sides, putting them on opposite of the instructions, the new frame connector lines up well with the front frame section. (When installed according to instructions, the frame connector would be moved about 5-6 inches over, to the left).

The only possible thin I can see wrong with doing it this way is some sort of interference with the torsion bar(?) if I was to drill thru the frame in the location below, see any issues?

Bolt it up! Welding would be better, but not everyone has a welder or someone to do it.

No problem with TB's. Move your heat around when welding and don't hang in one place too long.
Don't forget to plan out your E-brake cables in advance and include your exhaust placement in your plan as well. You'll thank yourself later. Been there. JMO

I thought I read somewhere that frame connector installation should only be done with the car sitting on a drive on hoist? Makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Any comments right or wrong?

Lots of talk about that, but we've installed them on jack stands with no issues. Also on my son's Dart and my Barracuda with no suspension at all in the car (both convertibles) and no issues.

Yep. I agree. Biggest thing is make sure you have the car sitting level on the stands. Sometimes concrete floors are perfectly level so you may need to put a shim or two between the jack stand (or lifting point on a 2 post) and the car.

Yup, that's my plan. No concern with close proximity to the torsion bar?

Perfect! Bolt them in, that is right where they fall on my car.

Just remember, when you go with final weld to make sure the car is level, and open and close your doors BEFORE welding to insure everything is straight.

You will be amazed at what this does to the car.
