early A engine offset question

How far to the passenger side does a V8 sit? I have 33" width from the outside of the frame rails and the center of my water pump is sitting at 16" from the passenger side rail.
 
I think TTI says approximately, per their pattern. I think tolerances were pretty generous in this area.
 
When I took my Ford 9" to have it narrowed to fit a 64 Dart I thought I remember him saying the A-body centerline was offset 1" also and other bodys were less. I would bet A-bodys range from 5/8" to 1". Jayson
