Hey folks ! I was wondering if anyone knows how much the sidewall bulges from the rim of a 15"x10" with 325/50r15s on them ? I am looking into tires and leaning towards the M/T 325/50r15 but I don't know how much they bulge from the rim . Maybe if someone had a free minute to get an accurate measurement of the distance from the edge of the rim to the outside of the bulge using a straight edge across the tire that would be awesome !!! I'm sure there are others who would be interested in knowing as well !
Thank you in advance for your time and your help !!!

My M/T 29 X 15 X 15LT tires mounted on 12 X 15 rims have a one inch bulge on each side.

Look on their website. Most tire specs list the section width on a specified rim width.

Well I know. 325cms/25.4cms per inch = 12.8 inches section width on a specified rim.I dont remember the rim size for that. It mighta bin a 8.5, cant say. Also the section is not always exact.
My BFG-325s are 13.2 inches on a 10 inch rim. the aluminum rim is actually 11 inches outside to outside,so; (13.2 - 11)/2 = 1.1 inches of bulge. pretty much the same as Trebligs. Mine are measured at 24 psi. My 325s are 27.9 tall IIRC. Mine fit inside the wells on a narrowed rear, under a Bcuda. Just BARELY.
BTW; most/maybe all, tire manufacturers have these specs printed up in their tire catalogs, as was earlier mentioned.

Looked these up. Ought to give you a pretty good idea:

Mickey Thompson 325/50-15: Section width 13.10", Rim -no recommendation given
Hoosier 325/50R15: Section width 13.00", Rim 9" to 11", Measuring rim is 10.00"
M&H Racemaster 325/50R15: Section width 12.30", Rim 10" to 12"
Nitto NT555R 325/50R15: Section width not specified, Rim 9" to 11.5"
BF Goodrich 325/50R15: Section width 13.23", Rim 9" to 12"

Thanks guys for your help ! I have a 70' Dart Swinger that's mini tub'd , springs relocated and as many of you know , useing 15"x10" rims and the 325/50r15 tire in this situation there is very little room for error . I just need an accurate , real world measurement . Thanks again guys , much appreciated !!!

Boy, youre not kidding, about a tight fit. I set my wheels in the Bcuda oem tubs, measured, subtracted 1/4 inch per side( thought it would be wiser to be too narrow, than too wide), and ordered my housing narrowed. Its a good thing I did that cause I needed every bit of those 2 quarters. I still had to trim the lips a bit, and pounded the living daylights of out of the inner odd-shaped oem tubs in key areas. And I had to move the entire rear end back some 5/8 inch, and trim some sheet metal out at the front lower corner of the wheel opening. The big BFG-DRs finally fit, at near stock ride height, but just barely. And I cant fly around tight corners quite as fast as with the 295s, without a bit of non- damaging rubbing going on back there. But then, thats not what I fit those hummers in there for, now was it.
FWIW, I wasnt able to make those BFG-DRs hook very well.Although I freely admit to not having a suspension set-up for launching. I think I mustered a 1.9 60ft one time with 4.89s . I had to come out pretty soft.Mostly (on our crappy track), they just spun, and spun, and spun...Guys were coming over and giving me all kinds of advice. Even the officials at the starting line were telling me to do this and that. I actually thought my CenterForce had bit it on the first couple of runs, cause the tach stuck on 7000 rpm pretty much the entire 1/8th, through 4 gear-ratios.(I was running the 833O/D and GearVendors) One of the starting line officials cleared that up for me though on the next run, when he came over and told me those tires were hazing all the way down, and that I should lower my tire pressures again. At that point, I had decided that the track was junk, and gave up. Besides, the thing I wanted to know, I had already learned; 93Mph! I went and sat in the bleachers. My son was there. We had a good time, then drove home. 4.89s with double O/D is 2.70 equivalent.Hah

The nitto nt555r has a very narrow section width compared to tread width hitting the ground when paired against the BF Goodrich radial T/A the same size.
I was running T/A's, 295/50/15 that barely rubbed in certain circumstances. Swapped to nt555r's 275/50/15 having the same tread width and a 1" smaller section width. Gave me the same amount of tread surface on the ground and the extra clearance I needed.
I have a narrowed 8 3/4 and offset shackle kit.

You might as well figure just over 13", especially since you are using the recommended average wheel. Based on my experience, allow about 1/2" clearance on inner and outer fenders. Otherwise they will rub. Good luck.
