Anyone out there have DMH electric cut outs? Thinking about getting a pair for my 408 stroker.
I know, lots of opinions out there. I have an x pipe set up, all TTI, not sure where they should go, between the header and x or after the x pipe. Any thought welcome.

My son' had electric cut outs on his 04 GTO. What I didn't like about them is that they open radially not from the end, which reduces flow.

If you want them done right look up a stock Max Wedge exhaust system and see how they did the manual cutouts....

They will sound better at the headers than after the X or H at idle. I put mine after the X so I still get scavenging effects when I open them. They don't sound amazing to me at idle but at WOT it sounds good.

I used the QTP kit and I love it !

Yeah exhaust cutouts. Get some. Show the world you are really serious.

I also have QTP's and I'm very pleased with them. I like using my cutouts to drown out the annoying sound of the fart cans on rice burners. Same goes for people that rev their crotch rockets (donorcycles!) to 10k RPM at stop lights. Oh your engine is loud and obnoxious? Two can play that game.

You know, a long time ago, I thought my combo would need them, or I just wanted them. But I wanted them to be lightning fast and automatic. Because when I hit the loud pedal, its usually over in a couple of seconds.(Dont want no speeding tickets). Of course nobody makes such a thing. The electrics are painfully slow. It turns out on a 430 hp running dual 3 in pipes, the Dynomaxers are lightning fast and automatic enough for me.
-If some company were to come out with a thing like that, I might get some. Then I could put on a skinny little single exhaust and quiet muffler for cruising, and, you know the rest.I might even drop 35 or 40 pounds on that deal. Equals more ponies left over for motorvation.
-Then again, I might not.

I have the summit brand after the x pipe mine sound good at idle and great anything more. Cops don't like as I have been pulled over he thought I was just going very fast. He let me go and no ticket.

Don't Forget the Obnoxious window rattling sound
of that Pounding Bass and Rhythmic Chantings
Stolen right out of a Dr.Suess book...called rap music ?

"You THINK THAT's MUSIC" ?

I usually give those guys my best N.W.A. Stare
While holding the 440 at a Steady 3500 Rpm's
til the light turns green !!!

I do that everytime there is a prius near me at a light, just to take up the slack for him not putting out any exhaust fumes

I just started looking for electric cutouts the other day, and after checking various reviews, I think I would go with QTP. They seem to be the only ones that don't have reviews of them breaking within a few months.

I've had mine since June and they're still great. They seal up nicely and I haven't had any problems with them so far.

I have the DMH low profile ones on my 2012 Challenger. After about 6 months, they started leaking when the car was cold, sealed up after that. One of the motors started to loosen a little, but would still seal after warmed up. DMH never responded to my emails. If I had it to do over again I would go with another company. I took them off my car and covered the openings with homemade plates. Will probably put them back on this spring and see how they are doing.

When I see people who have stupid stuff like exhaust cutouts on their car, the first thing that goes through my mind is "they don't know crap about cars."

If you want something that sounds like a log truck, buy a log truck.

RRR strikes again

Yep, it always amazes me that guys like him actually think that people give a **** about his opinions. He doesn't have any kind of knowledge to ad to any topic or maybe he can't afford the parts that are being discussed so he just bashes the parts and the people that are discussing them. I guess it sucks to drive a Rusty Rat Rod.

This is the first post I've read negative feedback on for the DMH cutouts, I did a search one day and every reply said the DMH are the best and have a long warranty. There were several complaints about the QTP cutouts, but everything I've read today says the QTP are better.

Wow... :tool:

He's one of the only TWO guys that I would trust to build an engine for me if I didn't do it myself. :prayer:

He knows plenty of building engines and cars.

If you don't like his opinions, that's fine, but don't insult his mechanical ability because you don't agree with him.

I've seen him with posts that have helped many people out of jams. If he wasn't so helpful, how come he has so many thanks???

I can see his point. Most electric cut-outs are more for showing off than they are for performance. If you want to do it right for the true performance benefits, then copy the max wedge system with huge pipes to the side behind the h-pipe without any funky electric motors to deal with....

My son's 05 GTO had some electric cut-outs on them. They were on it when we bought it. He loved them. But he loves to show off, the side of his Jeep Cherokee has proof of that...

Yea I'm the Tool, that makes alot of sense man, every thread I've read lately has him bashing someone and giving his ridiculous opinions, that's why someone else said RRR strikes again. It's not helpful in any way shape or form, you ain't any better with the name calling. I've been helping guys on these forums for years, can't stand the keyboard Cowboys that pop up on every thread to put people down for the project they're working on.
