273 charger, stock Cam stock Intake stock 4295s Carb. custom duel exhaust flowmaster two chamber mufflers all the way to the rear. 2 inch pipe. Is there an advantage to x pipe or a crossover pipe? I used them on big block but not on small block. MT:cheers:

There is always an advantage to a crossover pipe, and even more advantage with an X pipe! Is it worth the cost??? Maybe not!!!.....

Ok so advantage is where? HP, mileage, torque, sound? I know it scavenges gas better, but to what advantage. Thanks MT

I added a 3" TTI X-pipe ending with Dynomax Ultraflo mufflers to my 360 Dart Sport and it picked up between .05 and .10. X-pipe helped and mufflers didn't hurt. But I'm using bullet mufflers on my next project to save space around the driveshaft & 8 3/4" differential.

You may have to re-jet to optimize it and have to factor in the weight. I removed the weight added by the system (60+ lbs) from elsewhere in the car to keep my "race weight" the same. Your results may vary.

from what i have read x pipes make more torque and sacrifice a bit of hp, but only like 7-10. ive got one on my 340 and love it. its a pypes universal x it was the only x design i liked as it keeps nearly the same diameter or even gets bigger all the way through the welded section.

it also gives a more modern sound to the exhaust

I had to sacrifice my x-over(not X-pipe) to fit a GearVendors. I have a 360/430chp. I noticed the loss instantly.I really missed it for a while.I put a 3.09 low in it and 3.55s.I got over it.
