Start up Saturday sounds great. It is looking really good. That door panel sure is nice. I may have to buck up and pay the price for some new ones! I must have missed it somewhere, but I see an aluminum rad. Is it Champion? Just wondering because I saw another thread where someone was asking about shrouds. I have a Champion for my Coronet, but I'm nowhere near that point yet.

Well Saturdays no go I am getting no power from the ignition when I crank. So not getting any spark from the MSD. I have to hunt someone down to help figure that out I dont know anything about electrical. I had a leak from aftermarket trans dip stick I had to fix and a power steering leak. Hopefully got that all taking care of. Went to bolt on exhaust and last guy welded a plate over the hole I need for bracket :/ Its a be-cool radiator that I had tabs welded on to bolt in to stock location. The door panels are worth it for sure. Good quality I got them from year one but they come from legendary.

Well I got schooled on MSD systems and what they do but I think I know whats the problem now. Decided I didnt like my bracket for throttle (to big) and return spring set up so I went with full lokar set up. I think it looks a lot better nice tight compact and not to mention all sexy braided lines ;) intake needs to get powder coated its looks like junk already. Oh well drive it this year and send it out when winter hits :coffee2:

still trouble shooting spark issues. I think its wired wrong going to have someone look at it this weekend. Also fixed a leak in my oil pressure tube. Left a part off and wasnt getting a tight seal :/

Damn, that bites. I was hoping your next post was going to include a video of it running! Oh well, you'll get'er. There's only so many wires that could be be wrong, it can't be too serious.

I don't know much about wiring MSD ignitions into mopars, but I have heard about this problem a lot. Seems everybody says it has no spark when cranking, but tries to start as soon as you let off the key, or something of that nature.

I had the same thing happen to me along time ago with a 6AL. I went back to the factory ignition. Years later when I discovered the internet I read about the same problem.

Did you post a thread in the ignition section? I am sure its an easy fix.

Ya I got a post in there not really much help just people telling me to read the MSD book. I wouldn't make a post if I understood the book I had :p I am 100 percent its not wired right since he has ignition coil capped off and should be going to the MSD box :/

unknownsnake how do you have the msd wired up now? If your factory resistor is still hooked up you need to by pass it. all you have to do is hook up the small red msd wire to two wires coming off your factory resistor. the two wires are the blue wire( which is your 12V run wire) and the brown wire( which is your 12V start wire) so all you have to do is hook up the blue/brown wires that are coming from your bulk head connector going to the resistor.
You can cut the brown wire at the resistor becasue in the start position the brown wire is bypassing the resistor and sending 12V straight to the + side of the coil. now when you turn the ING switch to run . the blue wire goes through the resistor and the voltage gets knocked down to 9 volts. Also the 12V side of the blue wire branches off at the resistor and supply's 12V to the voltage regulator.

here is a wiring diagram that shows how its wired.
on this wiring diagram ING 1 is your blue wire and ING 2 will be the brown wire

Looks good so far man, sorry to hear about your bad luck but it'll all make driving it that much sweeter. Where did you get that second gauge bezel? Going with a very similar setup and don't what to buy a junk one.

I just have to add the brown wire in the guy that did it ran it to nothing. Just wire nutted off under dash. Its a fastline west cluster super solid and nice.

Still cant get car running not sure whats going on and I cant get anyone to come over and help me. I rewired the MSD so I have spark now. I also painted rest of interior pieces and have most of them in, I think my center section plate looks pretty sweet and I repainted the grill and got that all put on. Went with a different color something more to match the glittery type shine like my car

Its alive! Bad fuel regulator should be on today get it fine tuned and I will get a video going. lots of carb fires (bad regulator) shifter cable caught fire because exhaust guys moved it and I didn't check and my header paint sucks bubbled and peeled right off :eek:ops:

Good to hear she's running. You've made some nice progress with her. What paint did you use on your headers? I did a set about two years ago with VHT and they are just starting to bubble a little now.:coffee2:

Vht :-/ I only scuffed with sand paper that might be why. Those headers are a pain in the put to pull so I might just rock them this year and pull sand blase and paint in the winter

arg trouble shooting my tach and something sparked poped my fuse and I think it fried my speed gauge. it wont do anything anymore. Over 200 for new one :(

Got the car running but it has to be torn back apart. Its leaking oil so bad out of the pan I wouldn't want to drive it. Got to love paying people to do **** I should have done. lession learned One step forward and 5 steps back. video wont load sorry any suggestions on how to get it to load let me know :violent1:

Sometimes things are best done by yourself so you know the quality. Oh well, as you said, lesson learned. At least it breaths! That is a huge accomplishment. Now as for the vid, I sure don't know how that works. Hopefully somebody will tell us. I don't even know how to put one you tube, but I can post a video here from it.

Oh ya, congratulations!

running but not for long its getting ripped back apart the change oil pan gaskets it leaks to much

Damn...that's a rough setback!

I have to say that your 'Sport is totally drool-worthy! The color is amazing...looking forward to the "on the road" report. It sounds (and looks) like you're damn close!

:burnout:

I am going all in this week car sleep work and eat thats it. Sleep might be optional :coffee2:

not sure what is going on got it all back in and still leaks. Going to pull it all the way out and make sure its not coming from the back of motor :(

Do you have a 90 degree filter adapter?

Oil pressure sending unit can make a mess in the back also.

So Can a harmonic balancer with a groove worn into it. But that would be coming from the front also.

oil filter is at 90 degrees and its a new balancer. It comes down one drip at a time from two spots on the back of motor. It will be out today going to tear oil pan off again redo all that and check out back of motor. Put it on stand and let it drive and hope it seals this time.
