I'm guessing about 6 feet,in it's trajectory over to the scrap pile!:glasses7:

No, thats the active cylinder drop in the new Mopar 8-6-4 motor....

:glasses7:Awww,no problem.. Slap some JB Weld on it,you're good to go ,bunkie...

Our very helpful and generous member Pishta sent me a 1968 340 cam, and I have brand new MP lifters and a double roller set sitting right here.

I got it torn down today, (obvious with the cam on the ground) and was pleasantly surprised.
The cam bearings all look real nice, and it has cross hatching in the cylinders and zero ridges with 030 on the pistons.
With the cam bearings looking like they do and about .010 crankshaft end play I think it will be fine to rinse out and reassemble.

The head gaskets even looked in real good shape with no indication of corrosion or leaks of any kind.
The pistons have valve reliefs and a tapered outer edge so I don't think they are OEM, but they are still down in the bores by about 60.
Timing chain was just a bit loose though and has a few little chunks missing out of the edges of the plastic coated teeth, but I have seen way worse.
Rinsing the block and pan should get that out and I'll be putting that double roller set in it when it goes back together.

There was a $1,000 rebuild receipt in the glovebox for the transmission and the engine and trans have all new mounts with new ujoints in the driveline
The entire ignition system was also replaced right before we bought it (everything) but the distributor housing. :D
It has brand new plugs and yellow Accell wires also.

Also it's a power disc car so it should be a nice little daily runner for Stephanie, and I think she got a pretty good deal on the car.
(well, not having to pay labor helps, right) :D

Pishta's good folk , kudos to him. So you have a sweet car someone couldn't diagnose, and picked it up cheap? Sweet! I'm guessing you raided your " garage art " from Tony,to make your wife happy.( I,consider that,a good move.) You got her in a reliable ride, no payments. Jesus Greg, you got a keeper...( cars & wife...)

My guess is "not much".

It's all base circle. Must be all that "under the curve" I keep hearing about. lol

Lmao,TMM.. "Not much ,under the curve" there..

Go ahead and make jokes guys.
They are easier on the valve springs and rockers that way. :D

Oh, and I got the grill unyellow. :D

Minimal and high contrast just like she wanted.
Dipshit who painted it all yellow even painted the insides of the lenses yellow, so I redid them with that chrome paint.
The orange you see in there now is the bulbs reflecting off of the new coating.

Before and after. (the headlight surrounds are out in the back seat) but also single color satin black.

That silver on the signal housings is called natural aluminum gloss.
Not that crappy fake chrome crap or silver, and it looks so good I'm thinking to do the headlight bezel edges on my car with it since it looks just like the OEM bezel finish.

We'll see.

hey Trailbeast, I didn't know you made custom regrind cams :)

Not that I couldn't diagnose it, just got myself in a pinch. Greg the grille looks bitchin! I believe that guy was asking 150 for the 87 318, it looks like you've got it handled though brotha!

Yea, I think I got it.
Sorry you had to get rid of it, but I guarantee it went to a good home where it will be loved and also where you can have visitation time if you want it. :D

It won't be to awful long before it will be driving around town, but then it'll also be body work time.
When the time comes I'm going to cut that entire rear lower window channel out and get a replacement panel for it.
Same with the trunk floor, but the rest will be little at a time.
Also not sure yet if she wants to go with a factory style dash pad, or do something like mine.

Welcome to FABO.
What do you think of this site so far?
Sweet, with a ton of resources huh?
