My 51 Studebaker pickup still here, was also my nephews first car. I graduated to a '60 Dodge "Dart" Phoenix 2dr. Hard top. 318 Poly. The first Dart, though it was a big car weighed in at 4,200 lbs.
Have the Stude' in a hot rod version too, been a rod since 1994.

Had a 330 CID 2-bbl V-8, bench seats, a column shift, BW tires w/ poverty caps, and an AM radio. The best and worst feature of the car was the black bench seat interior. Black color bad for heat in Alabama, bench seat great for coed recreational activities. Worst mechanical features were the 9" drum brakes. Take two long hard stops and it was safe to drive in 20 mins. The other was the two-speed auto with variable pitch torque converter. Stand on it from a start 2nd gear arrived at 65 mph. Would kick down at 60 with nothing left.

Wow, so similar! My first car was a '64 F85 with the same size engine and 2-speed auto. Dated my ex in that car and still had it when we got married.
Yeah, I remember that bench seat...

I turned 16 in 1971 and bought my first car. It was a 68 Charger R/T 440 Magnum auto with 3.23 SureGrip It came with narrow magnum looking wheels and narrow tires. Stomp down on the gas and it was like driving on ice. Smoke those tires thru 1st and 2nd and chirp them going into high gear.. It was parchment gold with white vinyl top and white bumble bee stripes. AC, am/fm, tic toc tach. Probably my favorite car ever looking back... long gone though.

Wish you had your high school car back?

Yes actually, a '64 Valiant '170 three on the tree...

Oh God yes!!!!! 1970 Charger 500. Trying to see if it's still alive. Not having much luck.

Still have it, my first car, 66 Formuls S, over 40yrs now, lots of memories

the 76 Nova, I painted viper blue, put a stroked 350 in and manual shifted th350??? I loved that car... but I needed that money pretty bad when I sold it. It got me out of a dark spot in life... I was tore up about it at the time. Now I am thankful as hell for it all.

Who doesn't want everything?

But no, I have moved past the late 70's X-body with 3" bullet mufflers and air shocks.

Absolutely NOT. The car I drove in high school was a 75 Pinto. Now when I was in College, I bought my 68 Barracuda fastback and would love to still have that.

sure do, I had a 65 Barracuda with a 340..wait I still have a 65 Barracuda but now it has a 408, or a 225, or a 273..oh yeah, differrent car. And I saw my high school ex recently on facebook, gack! At least my car still looks great!

This was my high school car back in 71. 58 Ford customized by the Alexander Brothers. I always wanted a Mopar. But this was free. It's in Utica NY now. Someone is restoring it. The car I wish I still had when I was in school was my fathers 68 Charger R/T. I always tried to use his more than the Ford.

In April of my Senior year (1978 ) I found a 68 Charger R/T in a junkyard with a blown Transmission (727 TF). Someone had put a hell of a cam in the 440 and I don't know what else. They sold it to me for $200 because they couldn't find the title. I had to apply for a resurrected title. I put a new tranny in it and it ran like a scalded dog! It was lime green with a black interior and black vinyl top. In July, I was informed by the State Patrol that it was a stolen car out of Tennessee. I had to return it to the junk yard where the owner could claim it, but I did get my $200 back, woo hoo!

Still have mine. My '70 Swinger was my first car. It had a mild 340, automatic, 4.56 8 3/4 rear. It was a mid 12 second car. I bought it in 1995 when I was 17.

I also still have my 1973 Triumph Bonneville 750 motorcycle that my dad and I built before I bought my Dart, so I still have the first two vehicles I ever owned.

Being from a car family, I had more vehicles in high school than I did classes!! A lot of old farm trucks as my friend and I were hired hands for any farmer in the area who needed help! I had a 69 Mach I, a 70 GTO, passed on a 69 1/2 6Pak Superbee at a farm I worked at because I wanted to spend my pay partying Instead of buying it for the princely sum of $450!! My favorite car back then was a hand me down 73 Satellite Sebring Plus my parents bought brand new, my moms first new car!! We beat the living crap outta that car, and it was a regular customer in auto shop!! My brother beat the last life out of it before it made it to me, but we went everywhere in that car!!!

1955 Bel Air 2D Hardtop with built 283 4V 4 speed. Wound up owning 3 of them over the years, the last with a built 327 4 speed custom paint & interior. My Barracuda is my first Mopar, Purchased when I was already a senior citizen, but possibly will be my favorite of all of them.
We shall see in a few months-----------DR-----------:coffee2:

My first was a '79 Volare coupe with a slant, I painted it red with cragars, then traded it to my sister for my first love...70 Belvedere four door slant. Every once in a while I wish for the Volare, then I remember what a pos it was! I put big blocks in the belvedere, blew them up, and managed to keep it since 1996, but it got rusty over the years. I finally started ressurecting it about five years ago, and painted it like my high school dream car last summer. I feel sixteen every time I drive it, lol!

When I was in High School, I had a '72 Duster, which I traded that and a dirt bike for a '79 Volare, which I traded even up for a '72 Demon, and yes, I would take any of the three back.........

Bought my 67 red Dart two door 270 back in 1998 and graduated in 2000. Paid a whoping $300! Converted the car into an A833 OD and built a healthy slant six. Broke a few 7-1/4 rear ends before upgrading to an 8-1/4 sure grip. I know.....money was tight back in the day. Had her running low 15's with an open diff blowing through first gear. Picked up my first long term girl friend and had many good memories with the old girl. Drove around with my two best buds and made a lot of mischief.

Diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2008 and had to sell the car. I'm fine but miss the hell outta that car. I still have the vanity plate I ran "HYPR-PAK". Most people thought it was a SB car from the rumble and performance :D

I'll try and dig up a pic to post.

My first car 69 Swinger 340 4 speed. Put a set of 3.91's in it. Had 509/292 cam, headers, torker 2 intake. Street raced and cruised every weekend in the late 80's.
