Favorite War Movie ever

-
Generation Kill (mini series). I thought it was pretty accurate in regard to the "fog of war".

All the movies you guys mentioned are great too!!! There are just too many good movies to just pick one. They made me proud to have served. Every American should do a minimum two year stint (even women). That would get their skin into the world game and maybe open some eyes to the brutal reality of life outside of the US?

This one is fun!

I'm going to put a documentary in here for a must watch.
Remember in Gran Torino when Eastwood put the Garand in the
kid's face and told him they used one's like him for sandbags?
Well, that's true. And one of the people in Chosin talks about using his friend.

I came back for the very purpose of mentioning the overlooked war and movie.
"Give me that old time religion."

Most people don't realize how bad and big it really was.
They remade All Quite with Earnest Borgnine.

I know it's not in the same vein as the great, classic WWII and Vietnam movies listed here, but I liked Red Dawn. The original, 1984 version, not the travesty that was made back in 2012. The original presented the idea of WWIII in a realistic fashion, written around events that could have happened in real life.

Another one I liked, on a more humorous side, was Mr. Roberts. Incredible cast, James Cagney, Henry Fonda, Jack Lemmon.

And then there's always Heartbreak Ridge, with Clint Eastwood.
