What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Painted detail parts yesterday. Changed oil in my air compressor today, it runs a synthetic and I have a gallon in stock. Hot in the shop, think I will try to put my new pulley (painted yesterday) on my power steering pump and it I have any success I will install the pump on the car and plumb it. Hot in the shop though and I am too old to deal with too much heat.
DR-----------:D

Not sure what's on the to-do list for today but over the weekend played with the timing and advance and we took it to a cruise night for a test drive . Not bad but I think I'll be upping the jets in the carb sometime this week and it needs a bath big time .

Cleaned up and tuned the original horns for the cuda, then shoved a paper towel in each outlet, and sandblasted and primered them. Will post pix after they get a nice coat of black paint.

Got my wife to help me get the one pesky upper balljoint out. Now I can paint and rebuild the UCAs and get on with the suspension reassembly!

On the older UCAs i have heard of the new joints not fitting tight enough, either from the old arm being stretched from the old joint or the new joint not being exactly the right diameter. I have seen people put them in, and then put small tack welds in 4 places 90° apart to prevent them from coming loose. I intend to do this as well.

Watching it sit in the garage while I make up my mind about what to do with my engine. Rebuild the teen, or just bit the bullet already and find a 360 to build. Was just planning a cheap "refresh" of my teen, but now it looks like it needs machine work on the crank, and balanced, new cam, lifters, springs, balancer needs replaced, etc, etc, Might be time to dump it and look for a better engine to build.

Do a magnum 360. They are still easily found in the wrecking yards. I'd recommend the engine quest magnum heads though.

Some last few things and it's ready for first start later this morning...

Nothing, I was going to, but it hit nearly 90* by 11 AM, and the humidity is off the ridiculous meter.

I'm sitting here looking down the road a tad watching the smoke billow from my neighbors cooker. He's cooking a whole pig, soooooooo, pig and keg beer later, lol.

you'll get it boss - you're a detail guy - and I know failure is NOT an option... bet in the long run it turns out to be some goofy WTF oversight...

I did all of the wiring from a service manual and electronic ignition wiring diagram, soldered them (even the crimp on fittings were soldered and heat shrunk)... :D

We're getting power to the input and output of the ballast, and the coil +, and the electric choke positive wire has power coming straight from the ballast input...

But for some reason, we're not getting any spark.... :(

De-rusted and re-painted my "elusive" front, top gasket holder, for Pams 69 vert. I was lucky to get it from another member on this site. B4 pic.
I did not realize they would be so hard to find!

BLEED THE FRONT BRAKES ON DART SPORT. TOO DAM HOT AND MUGGY TO DO BACKS. WELL MAYBE NEXT WEEKEND? WAS 92 IN THE SHADE.
