68 dodge dart that now has a 383 been built to a 426, so what would a good radiator to use?? joejoe

Look at the Griffin and Be Cool universal radiators. If you don't mind a little fab work like drilling holes or fabbing simple brackets, they are well worth the money.

I am a fan of the Griffin direct fit with shoud mounts. Paint it radiator black, bolt up the shoud, and it looks like a factory piece. For the big block/A body application, I like the 26" wide Cuda radiator because the inlet /outlets are on the correct side for the aftermarket and most factory water pump housings

Never....never an over- heating issue. I have installed over a half dozen.

I buy from Summit/Atech and have had a couple show up with hidden damage, but Summit replaced no muss/ no fuss

a 26" alum with a shroud will be your best bet. this one is a smith 2 row of 1 1/4 tubes. i just transplanted it into my RR with a 511 stroker. I'm going to put a griffin in the dart with the spal fan module when i put it back together. trying to loose some weight and simplify the dart a bit since it doesn't see all the street use it did when i first put it together.

Just an FYI, the Be Cool unit goes from framerail to framerail. You cannot put a larger radiator in your car.

I have a Champion in my Demon. It is a mild 440 though and a 4 speed. In town driving stop and go for about a half hour in 80* heat in South Dakota it got up to 200* sitting at lights and back down to 170-180* cruising. It is definitely better than the steel radiator I had in it. Good luck!

I`ve got a 28 x 19' crossflow alum. in mine. the core is directly centered in the rad. opening.(same size) the side tanks are behind the radiator cradle. mech. 17 "-7 blade fan, w/ a home built (summit) alum shroad. have a 15" elec. fan in front that kicks on at 190. so far so good. 28-29" wide is about all you can massage into an A body.

I was looking at a champion but when I called and told them what I had he wants to build one, I think I am going to go with that, thanks for all the replies, joejoe

You can either go inside the frame rail to frame rail or go above it from inner well to inner well. the Be Cool does both.

I went with the griffin cross flow. 175.00 vs Be cool, 1,300.00 kinda made the choice easy....
IT should show up today. I'll post some pics tonight.
