Any expert body advice for rust proofing the door pinch seams on a late model vehicle? I cant help notice almost every Daimler era chrysler has problems with the pinch seams on the lower doors. jeeps, rams, etc.

Most have little ports to let water out, but what else can we do? I want to replace my doors with new (rust free used) from a southern jeep. (Liberty) but before I do... do I spray wd40 up in the holes monthly? Do I line-x the pinch seams before they go on? Do I drill extra holes? this is a major problem on numerous vehicles...door pinch seams just rot (at least in the rust belt and at least on my diamler era Chrysler) I am open to pouring a can of rustoleum in the thing if it'll help lol. any tips before I put rust free doors on it and they are junk in 5 years?

Thanks all

drill an extra hole at the lowest point
prep the surface inside the best you can and use POR-15
I like the POR-15 chassis because it's not affected by UV as much as regular POR-15

Rustoleum oil based paint works better than POR15 since it does not break down under ultra violet light. It is also much less expensive.

Door bottoms aint the worst of it. Open the trunk then turn /contort to look at its turn down lower pinch from the opposite direction. This is the very worst spot on every a-body I've owned.
I use a very fluid, milk like, water based product, first was called Neutra-Rust, later used Rust Ender.
After a good cleaning with compressed air, Generous application from a pump spray bottle then pushed it with a whisper of compressed air.

I use Penatroll. $10 a quart at Lowes. This stuff will penetrate everywhere, even straight up. Works extremely well.

Very helpful. thanks. im leaning paint route. seems more permanent then a wd40 type spray...

What I use converts rust to a black primer like preventive coating. Paint would require some amount of prep and prime too. Good luck with it.

Can it be painted after it hardens or dries? these doors are supposed to be clean and rust free. just looking at all my options.

Oh I can't believe I'm posting here again, but this is the correct answer to your question from a professional collision repair technician.

Buy the accessory wands, they spray in a 360 degree pattern.
