With a name like Prostar, it has to be crap.

EQ FTW

Feed back 99.6% with over 25k left. That's actually really good, when you think of how many goofy people shop the net. They also responded to every negative feedback left (the few that there were). And most of them weren't for the "NEW" heads, but remanufactured heads.
  • Not say'n I know, just sayn' it would be nice to know.

If they'd sold 25k of these heads, you'd already have a set.

LOL..... not 25k of "these" heads, but dealing in "heads". Ok, we have your vote, you think they are junk because of their name. Thanks drive by... :D
  • Now, as the title states, "Anyone buy/try these heads?"

Hi,

Made overseas, like most are today.

We have been selling them for about 15 years now. Sadly they are so much better than the factory MOPAR heads. It is the why MOPAR should have made them in the beginning.

Just let us know if we can be of help or if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Tim

They may be the same as the "speedmasters" I think thats what they are called. one of the engine builders did a little work with them on here a while back. cant remember the results to well but I think for a stock non performance aplication they were ok. But Im old and don't remember real well.

Engine Quests are just so...... amazing.

And not Chinese.
EQ's have a been represented well here on this site. They perform and have a good reputation. But if somebody was just looking to refresh their high mileaged magnum heads in their Dakota, Ram, Van, or whatever, they would be looking at replacing valve seals, perhaps springs, perhaps valve guides and even maybe exhaust valves, and maybe their whole head if they are cracked and they don't want to reuse them. These heads seemed priced right and are new, not remanufacted. Supposingly "thicker" where they normally crack. I just thought somebody from here may have tried them and have some feedback

EngineQuest heads were developed in Australia. They've got a really good reputation.
Check out the latest info in the past couple of issues of Mopar Muscle magazine from the build being done by IMM.

The Prostar just don't have enough info. Is it possible to look in the feedback history for the seller and contact other customers to see if they're happy with them?

You can see the feedback left for the item, but you cannot contact the buyers. It's the way ebay is set up.

From what I have found in the web, it looks to be another high volume head shop, and so the quality would be a crapshoot. As for the castings...... I have to worry about the old adage of 'you get what you pay for'. And what does this mean? "much thicker in all the critical areas" LOL

yeah, by all they sell, it's pretty obvious there is a lot of heads being moved through there shop. Yeah, a little more clarification would be great on where "all the critical areas" are. Leaves one to assume where the originals crack. But who knows....

I have bought alot of heads from them over the years, they are local too me, never gave me a bad part.

He specialized years ago in welding AL heads together and refurbishing them. He is actually so good that the local NAPA sells his heads for replacement parts under their brand name.

I have not used the MAG heads he had in the ebay ad, but the quality of his work is good, for stock replacement engines.
