started putting my car together//wanting to start/drive/stop first and will get to detailing later
car has been idle for 27 years !!!!!!!!!
new trans shaft seal/pan gasket/trans fluid/trans lines
cut the headers out (old rusty) and scraped the entire holy exhaust system
and installed the 340 exhaust manifolds and 2.5 TTI head pipes I acquired
kick down linkage needs tweaking/and the starter wires need fabricating/moved(to tight)
starter HAS to be removed to slide in driver-side head pipe in
**********does a mini starter solve this issue?? ** which one ???
used stainless 7/16 bolts/washers to facilitate maintenance //mock up
beside these two issues the head pipes fit nicely
trans line are by INLINETUBE nice !

When I had my stock 340 in the car I ran those same head pipe. I ran a mopar performance mini starter and that freed up some room. You can probably get similar or the same starter off a Dakota from a pick and pull (I don't know years sorry). I remember having to cut and reweld the kick down linkage arm to make it narrower per the TTI instructions.

Jazak5 thanks for this thread! I'm in similar spot. '75 Scamp, 318, sitting for 21 years. I'm going to buy the 2 1/2" TTI exhaust from head pipes back any day now. Driver side is no problem, I've done the bell crank mods and just got my mini starter. I'm mocking up the passenger side now and I'm using a 360 manifold and homemade 7" downpipe I bought from FABO Treblig. I'm including some pics because, I'm looking at your pics thinking, I should order the # (2863549) passenger head pipe from TTI. Not the # (2843953) for the (older) 340 passenger side. I need your opinion because hooking up the passenger side will challenge me. Thanks in advance for the help and how is your system working?
Woody

from the TTi head pipes I will use the stainless system from "PYPES"Pypes Exhaust (SMA10R) Pypes 67-73 Mopar A-Body 2.5'' Crossmember Back w/ X-Pipe System RacePro killer will post pics when done
That's a good looking system, I like the turn down tailpipes, but I'm not sure if it will work for my car. I plan on buying the whole TTI system including the head pipes, but I have to figure out where to hook up my passenger side down pipe downstream, so to speak, under the car. My questions is, from looking at your pics and my pics, I think I'm better off ordering the passenger side down pipe you bought. It looks like at least my down pipe and where I cut the TTI pipe will be in the neighborhood. Was it for manifold #2863549? It looks like you have the 68-70 340 manifolds?
Thanks,
Woody

I'd recommend a mini starter. I bought one listed for a '93 Dakota. Check out the starter motor size difference in this thread.

Got my mini starter last week, so I'm not expecting trouble with the driver's side. I think I'm going to order the TTI passenger head pipe for the older 340 manifold (#2863549). Just trying to get my homemade downpipe and the TTI pipe close enough to fabricate a connection. Chris, your system looks good, do you notice any difference?

The mental bit of knowing the exhaust flows better has me believing the car has a bit more pop. However it's really hard to tell from the butt dyno if it actually is faster.
