Depending on what mounts and oil pan you are using, sometimes the V8 center link is not needed. I didn't need one on my 65 Valiant.

I think I am going with a 360, schum mounts, not sure on the pan yet, thought about stock unless there is a better one to uses, thanks any and all info is greatly appreciated

That's what I used. I had a '71 360, stock pan, Schumacher mounts and Dougs headers. It fell in like it was made for it.

If you have done the swap before and don't mind sharing as this is also a 65 Val there are a few other quations I have, does anything have to be done with the Trans mount, and what did you do about the gas pedal/linkage, also did you upgrade torsion bars and brakes, thanks

I left the torsion bars, as the car was a very hot street car that I raced occasionally and I wanted good weight transfer. Nothing has to be changed with the transmission cross member or mount. I even used the same drive shaft, but I had it shortened because I went from a 7.25 to an 8.75 rear axle. I simply located the stock V8 pedal and kickdown linkage assemblies. I later threw the kickdown assembly in the ditch, because I put a race oriented 904 in it with a manual valve body.

I Came across a 71 360 and am told its out of a police car and is a forged crank motor and internally balanced, I thought all 360 were external balanced, have you heard of this combo? Thanks

Nope. Never happened. Either it's a standard 360 or if it's internally, balanced it's a 318. Or.......least likely, a 340 transplant. No 360 ever came with a steel crank.

He may have the cranks mixed up, he had a few compete 360's one bottom end completed dated 74 and the 71 he though was a steel crank car was just the block, he had about 6 340's in different stages, I may just do the 74 complete bottom end s I know the crank and rods are a match, is a 74 a good 360

Hey have a question, there was a guy on here saying he took some marine 360/340 motors to a salvage yard pretty close to me, did a little reading some people say they r the same blocks possibly better than cars and can be used with diff heads for a car, I know some may have reverse rotation, is it best to stay away from marine motors or r they fine to use in cars? Thanks

The blocks would be fine. The cranks would be too, IF you get one from a boat with two engines and get the forward rotation engine. Otherwise, they are reverse rotation to the best of my knowledge.
