That sucks. You really have to look hard to find the repair on the bell in that first pic. Def knew it and didn’t disclose it. What’s up with that?

Well the hate text have started with the F word flying. I knew it would be a matter of time Once I filed a dispute with pay pal he got started. I tried to work it out civilized before a dispute but he did not do anything until after the dispute was filed. He is also upset about his feedback I left on here. I don't think I was out of line since he started cursing me on the phone and not being reasonable to my request.

Kind of glad you beat me to this sale now lol. What a pile this seller was. This is a perfect example of where paying the 4% to Paypal is totally worth it. Hope you get every penny including shipping costs back.

X2+ I think I’ll rethink my level of trust for online buying from now on. I’ve been lucky so far that people I’ve dealt with have been great,Dano,Mopar Al,and several others. But you never know. I think from now on I’ll buy new, pass the purchase,or go and get it. It’s not worth the risk. I see your in Florida and he’s quite always from you. I’m sure you’d like to go get your money back in person. Let me know how it goes and get an address. I’m doing a road trip in a few weeks. I’m goin near his state.... Can anyone say blanket party??? I knew you could... I hate pieces of crap like that.

I don't know this seller from hell or high water. Just something one might consider. If he's in fact truthful of his father passing he may know exactly zilch about an old 10-1/2" bell and a b-body 4 speed. I can tell you though, if my son, the geek extraordinaire (to me lol), were asked to get rid of my junk once I'm gone, he wouldn't have a clue on 90% it, what it fits, if it's good, has been modified, etc. I'm sure he'd just try to make it all disappear just as fast as he possibly could.

Then too, the seller could just be a no good, low down, turkey trotten..................

Blewbyu, Good luck on your resolution.
What are you putting the b-4 speed in?

He is no kid I can tell you that. If you look at the one picture I posted he put a screw right through the brazed part to hold everything to the pallet. He could not miss that repair in my eyes whether he was a car guy or not.

Yikes

Nothing wrong with the input shaft, the taper is shorter , was done because some cranks weren't drilled deep enough. You can lop off an inch and still run a roller pilot bearing that sits into the register like a magnum.

The iron bell housing is and was not desirable, no one wants them...that was a research blunder on your part, you bought that junk on your own.

Now for a little inside info on what I see that trans having... a ring groove on the input means, if I remember right... low 1st gear "possibly od trans". Which way, up or down, the reverse tab points... is usually a dead giveaway of of trannys , if there are tabs that is.

Sell has refunded 1/2 the purchase price but is a pending refund for 5 days before it's available. He did it pissing and moaning of course, butt did finally do something to correct the problem.

I hate to tell you mr Moparofficial but that bell is very valuable for the big block a body guys. Why do you think so manywe're trying to only buy the bell housing.

Because they're all overly optimistic cheap skates?
Iron bellhousings weigh a ton, perfect match for a motor that weighs a ton....

Sorry you got screwed. You know, trust is what all our trade is based on .Guys like this ruin it for all of us.Just know we are not all bad.Just last night a guy contacted me about a bell housing I was selling. He told me he needed it to be overnighted.I don't take pay pal.Tired of having those parasites getting rich on our private trade.I took his word that he'd send payment and he shot me an email with a FedEx shipping label .That was last night. This morning it was shipped and when I got home from work there was an email from the guy with a photo of the US Postal MO he sent me.It has to work this way. Trust is everything and without it we all lose .So,to the guy who bought the trans,if it is an old style A833 A body trans with the flange I have 3 of them if you need but shipping one of these things has to be REAL EXPENSIVE. I'd throw that bell in the scrap heap and put the sellers name out there far and wide on every car site on the internet warning people of his garbage.

Well I really only wanted the bell housing for a project like most everyone else did. That is why everyone asked to buy it separate. It is a hard bell to find. I figured i was going to paying freight and figure what the hell I could find someone local to me wanting a B Body 4 speed. Well when i went to negotiate some money back he low balled the cost of the bell housing because of the low ball offers he was getting from people that wanted to buy it from him on here. We finally got to some what of a fair offer on it and he did refund me that money. So i will go through the tranny as it needs some brgs and then sell it. Of course I have more into it then I would for a core tranny

Glad this got some what ironed out, I think I need to close this thread today then and mark in sold so we can still read it..
