My 1967 Cuda Restoration

Good news on the gas leak....it doesn't leak anymore:D

Pulled the dash cluster out today. Looking to find out why
the fuel gauge, amp gage and the stock temp gage quit
working. I did a check at the sending unit wire on the tank
and with the key on, my check light flashes. With this I
assume that the voltage limiter is working.

Hooked the amp gauge back up with the wires hanging and
it worked. I think maybe the studs on the back have a coating
on them not letting the signal come thru.

I also ran some more ground wires on the back of the cluster.
This may be overkill but it doesn't hurt anything.

I also wired one of the am-fm cassette radios I got from
J-Miller...works great. It will go under the driver's seat. It
will use the single speaker in the top of the dash. The unit
sounds great with only the one speaker.

Didn't want the take all this stuff apart again.....the price we pay
for these old cars.

Looks like new car to me..So what does a new car cost these days??
 
The dash is done and here is the new Master Power Brake conversion
Did you do a complete brake upgrade or just the front brakes and how much did that cost you? I have a 68 Cuda I'm getting ready to restore and I would like to upgrade to full power brakes.

Did a complete brake upgrade. Got the front stuff from Master Power Brakes. I think it was around $1100.00.....I still have manual brakes.

The rears are 11" x 2-1/2". The 8-3/4 came from a C body. It came with
the large drum brakes. I just done a restore on them.

Had a guy over an hour ago looking at the progress on the 'Cuda. He's and old
Mopar guy that just built a 1965 Coronet 2dr hardtop 440 drag car. He looked
at the front of my engine and asked me how I was going to get the oil pan
off in the future if I needed to. I said....hadn't thought about it.

as you can see the pan hangs over the K-member. He suggested I pull
the K-member, take it to the local welding shop and have it cut out
and boxed in. After looking at it....made sense to me.

Anybody run into this problem before?
Disconnect motor mounts, engine hoist lift engine, remove oil pan. Not easy but possible.

I did it in my car with a 440. A piece of angle iron and some all thread. The chain on top and 4x4 under the crank in the pictures are back-up safety items; not really needed.
